Photographer’s Note

A view of the cathedral clock tower (see another photo of that here http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=758811) from the Patio de las Escuelas Menores. This is a small courtyard where one can find the University press, Cursos Internacionales, and a small USAL museum that houses only one object: a beautiful 15th century dome ceiling fresco of the zodiac, transplanted from the old university library. The patio is a tranquil spot, even though it is in the heart of the tourist route around the city (it's right next to the famous facade of the university where one can find la rana). Most tourists don't find the patio, however, since it is tucked away behind a gate at the far end of another plaza. I came here several times just after it rained to take photos; it's a lovely cloistered place.
