Photographer’s Note
Here's a photo from my semester in Spain two years ago. I didn't upload it originally because I wanted to make a door-picture collage, but I don't have enough good photos to do that.
I think the address is accurate; it was right down the street from an internet cafe that I used often between classes as it was so close to the Plaza de Anaya. I loved the mystery of the rather uncharacteristic door with its scrollwork and peeling paint. And the color goes so well with the warm sandstone of the building.

Hi Whitney,
I saw you viewed my photograph "The Transplanted Baker" and marked the note as "useful". Thanks for that! One of my favorite things is to make the note and workshop, if posted, part of the entire posted image. Sort of an experience in total, maybe as far as some sublime entertainment. So I thought I might examine your gallery. I like this photograph, so far, nice design of a door and great composition.
I also read your intro commentary. Has someone, anyone explained that you do not need high end equipment to be any sort of photographer? It is NOT the camera, under any circumstance. I mean, a great, expensive camera can aid an experienced and talented photographer to create perhaps a better rendition of an image, but a great, expensive camera cannot do anything at all for an inexperienced or untalented photographer. It is probably best to get a little experienced to find out if you have any talent to go on.
If you will read my intro, I only aspire to have the best DVD slide show at Christmas time to bore the crap out of my relatives with. Everything else I do totally for myself, it's a totally narcissistic endeavor. Maybe you got that from my baker post.
So, if you would, let me know why you marked my note "useful" but left no comment. It is only because I am curious, as that note was little more than outflow from my mind regarding the experience at the bakery. I felt the creative juices flow while I typed it - I get that feeling sometimes and my hands just act on their own, just lay down those words out of nowhere. I guess I could do that onto a notepad somewhere and wordsmith it later for publication, but I feel that would be some sort of deception.
I'm gonna check out the rest of your gallery now. I hope I can find something to critique, something that shows me what you really expect from your work. You might be on Facebook right now, playing Mafia or some other waste of time, and totally oblivious of this site and not notice this post for months, that's ok too. If you want to learn something about your photography or your camera or how to PP and what POV is, let us know.
Thanks for sharing!
