Place : Cathedral of Leon

Theme: Trip to Peaks of Europe (III)/Leon

Very hard to photograph this cathedral without a wide angle lens. But it also has a downside that is a big possibility of distortion in high towers. León Cathedral, also called the "Pulchra Leonina" is situated in the city of León in north-west Spain.

It is a masterpiece of the Gothic style dominating the mid 13th century. Inside the Cathedral its almost 1,800 square meters of stained glass windows dating from the thirteenth to the fifteenth century are among the world's finest stained glass.

a gorgeous view of the famous cathedrale! I like the vertical format enhancing the hight of the church, the spectcular light against the blue sky, the beautiful flowers in foreground...

you can combine 8 or 10 horizontal frame together with this lens.

This is a most attractive shot: the flowers are well positioned to grab attention and make a fine, diagonal guide to the impressive cathedral. The slight lens distortion seems to add to the grandeur of the building, encouraging a strong upward presentation
Excellent sharpness and strong colours.

Como acabei de escrever ao Didi, sabe bem estar de volta (vá-se lá saber o que me deu para estar tanto tempo ausente) e ver que os nossos velhos amigos de sempre continuam por aqui e em excelente forma!
O POV, cores e definição são magníficos. A moldura é um bocado intrusiva, mas a foto é tão boa que consegue resistir a isso. :->

La cathédrale ressort magnifiquement sous ce ciel d'un bleu splendide. L'architecture bénéficie d'un savoir-faire exceptionnel. La restauration en cours promet une bien belle réalisation.
Le cadrage est fort bien pensé. De plus, avec ces fleurs au premier plan, cela donne de la gaieté en plus.

F11 aperture made the sky look darkened, but at the same it enhanced the magnificent elements on the cathedral walls, and the outlines of it's turrets.

Olá, amigo Filipe,
esta Catedral es realmente una joya del gótico, y también un verdadero reto para los fotógrafos, porque casi no hay espacio para poder captar su majestuosa arquitectura sin recortar una parte.
Encontraste el ángulo preciso para obtener una bella foto, y creo que desde este mismo punto de vista también tomé yo mis fotos.
Buena luz y bellos colores, en una composición muy elegante y atractiva.

Gran angular el tuyo, pues conozco bien Leon y el espacio para poder sarcar completa la catedral es el justo.
Sin embargo en esta maravilloso POV nos la muestras con amplitud, precioso el adorno floral que es un bonito complemento a este soberbio trabajo.

This is very nice, I love the POV with the cluster of flowers in pink and purple the few people give goos sense of scale and liviliness. It is great that there is not too many people in the POV, it give a good sense of peacefulness. I love the beautiful blue sky and there is really good details of the amazing church.

Hello Filipe,

You're capturing well this cathedral by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the noble/medieval cathedral with Gothic style. It's interesting in the exterior divided in brown and white color and the pinnacle of a cathedral, too. And, the colorful flower placed on the courtyard draws out an additional good effect in this image. Have a nice weekday!
