Photographer’s Note

This valley is a place where the word "HISTORY" has a real meaning.

The photo was taken in one side, the west one, of the Tabladillo valley.
This valley is crossed by a river called Mataviejas and along the river you can find villages as Santo Domingo de Silos, Barriosuso or Cocoland (also known as Quintanilla del Coco).

Nowadays it is possible find a few people and also a great number of animals: foxes, vultures (and also that kind of vulture which throw the bones for break them and eat them), wild boar, deers, gallifantes, gamusinos and crocodiles are some of them.
Time ago you could find roman people, celtics, ibers, muslims,... And I want to explain something about them.

Maybe you have listened about a strange book called "Necronomicon". It was written by an arab and it was translated in the 10th century (the book was written in the 8th century) to greek.
Well, the Pope Gregory 11th forbid that book and almost all the copies where burnt and buried.
The original text was lost, and the different translations (mainly to latin and greek) were our "door" to this book. But 20 years ago was discovered the only arab copy of the book. It was written on parchment (I don't know if this is the right word) and it is inside the library of a monastery in this valley.

Somehow it is a great succes. It is something unique. But... this is kind of readings are not appropiate for a monastery and now, this version of the Necronomicon is locked. They didn't destroyed this text due his great value, but they would do if they could.

As you can see, this valley is plenty of History.
