For work reasons I went to Burgos, the land of coco, but not to Quintanilla del Coco, to another village: Gumiel de mercado. There you can find some important cellars that create some wines that you can consider as master pieces. This land of vineyard has the mane of Ribera del Duero, which means they are located on the riverside of the river Duero.
There you can ask for a visit to the cellars, they will explain you how they create this wonderful drinks, something quite artfull because they combine temperature, kind of grapes, woods of the barrels, time in the bottles or previously the barrels... It´s a timeless job quite unusual in this times we live of the hurry-up minds. Accorgind whit the time wines could be "Crianza", the younger one, Reserva or Gran reserva (the oldest and expensive one).
In this photo you can see the old underground cellar built long ago under a house. Down there I experienced the wonderful feeling of being learning something, from time to time I remembered Rinie Hoff thinking that probably she would enjoy this visit as well. So I dedicate this photo to her.
Well that´s all, it´s not a great photo, but I think teach us something about the world. Finally if you want to know about the passion of wine let me recommend you this funny picture. Take care friends.

Gabriel

Hola Miguel,
mmmhhhhhhhh such a view speaks to me !
I like this barrels perspective in the low light of the cellar, I find interesting the various grades of lighting to be seen on their tops and making some of them shining, the arches ans stairs add here the idea of an old cellar that offers excellent aging conditions. Me gusta !
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Hi Miguel - it;s a great photo, it may not have an explosion of bright colour, but that is the beauty of it. The compo is excellent, I can't think of a better way to show a wineceallar photo.

Hola Miguel

Gracias,
Oscar

Hola Miguel

I like the low key tone, in this superb cellar shot. The row of barrels adds good diminishing linear perspective. Well done!

Oooh, a picture dedicated to me! Thanks very much for the honor, Miguel, you know what to honor me with, WINE! I read a piece of the thread why TE is entertaining, I have not given it a thought yet, but definitely TE gave me the opportunity to meet people like you, for whom I feel a warm friendship. And I'm sure we will meet in real life as soon as possible. And yes, you can bet on it that I would like to visit this place. I usually buy the "RESERVA", and when I have more money to spend, I'll go for the "Gran Reserva".
Very nice perspective, Miguel, and thanks for the dedication, you're sweet.
Have a good week, Rinie

Excellent composition with the perspective of the barrels continued up the steps forming a great lead-in. Interesting note too; I like the art of drinking wine, but it hadn't occured to me that making it was an art form :)
In the UK people who drink too much wine are called p*** artists.
