This weekend(long weekend for many people)I was in Avila,on the occasion of celebration for Mother's Day too.I spent a few time to experiment with night shots,of course this beautiful city seems to me an excellent scenario to do it.This is the north part of the wall, the ring road which go up to San Vicente square and church.Probably I'll post more picture from that night. They are the first shots with long exposure time and with tripod that I take,so welcome for advices and suggestions..

Hola Sonsoles,
Bien hecho. Saludos, Consuelo

Hi Sonsoles,
Great photo with really good composition and nice angel.
I like the beautiful colors of this one but maybe the most impacting thing in this photo is that totally black sky.
Good job!

Best wishes,
Eino

Hola Sonsoles,

Jordi

Sonsoles,
Very good nice image you have here, your experiment work out very well for you. I like the mood you captured. Good sharpness and I love the coposition with the layers of church towers and street light leading us into the end of the road and horizon from both sides. Pity the tree is not eluminated it almost blended into the night sky. I really enjoyed it. Thanks so much.

Hola Sonsoles,
a beautiful curve that is written by the towers into the night..:) the tree is a perfect counterpoint to this. Great composition, very good technique.
Compliments, Chris

hello Sonsoles,
excellent night shot, I like a lot the golden light that stands out so well against the pitch black darkness. the wall disappearing in distance create a nice sense of depth and distance, while the star effect on the lights add a festive and cheerful touch to the sene. excellent work, my compliments.

with best regards,
Kristine

Hola Sonsoles!

Felicidades!

Hey again, :)

A wonderful POV, and an expertly executed exposition here, it produces just enough light, and is crisp and clear. Again an impressive central motive. Well done.

Regards

Hi Sonsoles. Wonderful perspective. Very good light on the towers. Love the tree, the stars in the lights and the frame (I'm going to steel it). Very well done. Best regards. Paulo

Hola Sonsoles,
Estupenda luz y profundidad. Bien hecho.
Cordialmente
Charo

I think this is a stunning shot, the repetition of a well lighted tower in a longer exposure is amazing. you did well here Sonsales, i like it a lot.

Albert

Hi Sonsoles,

this night shot is perfect for me! Absolutely superbly managed and balanced lights of orange golden touch. The position of castle wall is fantastic, creating a harmonic curve balanced with the curve of lights on the opposite direction. All this elements and black sky dominating the capture create quite minimalistic shot but still so full of information. My compliments!

Warm regards,
Jeri

Hola Sonsoles,
Me gusta tu POV bajo y dando perspectiva. Buena nitidez.
saludos
jorge

Dear Sonsoles,
Everything worked here, the settings are great however I don't quite understand the star effect on the lamp created by f/8 it usually needs narrower aperture, but perhaps the shape of the lamps were starrish.
However, I'll give you some advices for night photography.

1. Try the right time. blue hour of the day is the best time to reveal night photography, Imagine this one with a blue sky, and the night feeling with those starry lamps and yellow lighting on the walls. (However its not bad the way it looks now, but I think it would be more complete the other way)

2. use long exposure to capture the light trails from the cars. 20/30 sec depending on time and the the apperture.

3. RAW/WB settings. Capture in RAW format and use auto white balance. Then try to restore or change the white balance in PP.

Thats for start :)

Regards
Stelios

The contrast of colors is what i like here, those towers well lighted dominating half of the shot is very attractive. Excellent shot.

Me encanta la fotografía nocturna. El tripode, el ayudante ideal.
Esta te ha quedado muy bonita. Tienes quemoostrarnos el resto.
