Photographer's Note

A view over Avila taken from the wall, a cloudy day good for captures...we can see the tower of Santiago Church...

Santiago church is of Romanesque origin but was enlarged and remodeled in the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. According to tradition, was where were assembled the knights of the Order of Santiago. Its octagonal tower is a unique model in the city. The church was rebuilt by Fray Francisco Ruiz initiative consists of a single ship of great breadth and chapels between buttresses, the octagonal chapel and is generously proportioned. Access to the interior is done through a small portico of aesthetics but keeps reviving the Gothic tradition in its ribbed vaulting.

Hola Manuel,

happy Easter! The day is cloudy but the colours are fine and the clouds impressive. fantastic view from Avila. i like all the red roofs and mountains in the background. Here it seems a new part of the town. I will go to Avila also in my trip. Only three days and i will be in madrid. I am looking forward to mmeting you there.

Tu as trouvé un très bon point de vue sur Avila dont je me souvenais surtout des remparts. Le ciel "dramatise" un peu la scène. Une photo intéressante et belle.

A breathtaking city scape from high viewpoint in excellent light, wonderful tones and subtle colors and great dof. Perpective is excellent with effective diagonal to lead in with the church tower being strong focal. Tremendous detail and sharpness throughout enveloped by that wonderful sky. A superb capture
