Photographer’s Note

Pattern captured in Cristo de la Luz, which dates back to the visigoths - to be precise the original building was then replaced with the mosque seen today, dating back to the 10th century. Legend has it that when Alfonso VI rode into Toledo, they found a still burning torch inside which burnt for several centuries.

Hi, Levente,

What impresses me most about this photo is the narrow range of contrasts that you've achieved throughout the frame. I've tried taking analogous photos inside buildings with visually interesting patterns and struggle to avoid having some areas brightly lit while others are too dark to see clearly. Here, you can see interesting details of the building form and surface throughout the photo.

I'm surprised by your decision to keep the little corner in the lower left that is dissimilar to the main photo. Surprised, but it works. Perhaps it is just enough to remind the viewer how special is your POV in this photo.

Wow, the more of your work I look at the more I love it! This is fantastic, a very different subject to what I usually go for but I think you have inspired me.........although I'm not sure how many years it would take me to achieve something like this! Thank you Levente, another masterpiece :)

simple has an artistic point that I like.
