Today I show you a view of the Tagus River Toledo on its way up, the photo is made from the viewpoint is in the Paseo del Miradero.

It is a further demonstration of the towns that were born on the banks of rivers in the first settlements in this case from the Bronze Age. I refer you some additional information taken from Wikipedia:

Toledo (from Latin Toletum in Arabic: Tulaytulah in judeoespañol: Toldoth-people-in Hebrew, in mozarabic: Tolétho) is a town in central Spain, capital of the homonymous province and the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. Moreover, the municipality is considered individually as a region in the division done by the county council, although from a strictly physical geography of the city gate is the natural region of La Sagra, which traditionally has been considered at the beginning Bisagra door.

Toledo is known as the City of three cultures, having been inhabited for centuries by Christians, Jews and Arabs, and "The Imperial City" for having been the headquarters of the court of Charles I of Spain in the Hispanic kingdoms .

The city is located on the right bank of the Tagus, on a hill a hundred meters above the river, which abides by its base, forming a sharp bend known as the Tagus lathe. Configuration has a very scattered in neighborhoods separated from core: the sugar on the right bank of the river and has its origins in an ancient parish in the city, about 7 km far from the city center, while the Sta Maria Benquerencia located virtually opposite the former on the left bank of the Tagus, its center located about 8 km from the city.

The city's history dates back to the Bronze Age. Was an important center Carpetana until Roman conquest in 193 a. C.. Are various remains of Roman activity in the city, including the aqueduct or the circus. After the Germanic invasions, the city will become Leovigildo with capital, and later principal ecclesiastical seat of the Visigothic Kingdom. In 711 Toledo was conquered with little opposition by the Muslims led by Tariq ibn Ziyad. During the Muslim rule, the former Visigothic capital was marked by his opposition and individualism, in the Taifa of Toledo. Alfonso VI recaptured the city in 1085. During the modern age, the city noted as the seat of the Catholic Monarchs and their involvement in the War of the Communities of Castile. When the court moved to Madrid in 1563 the city entered into decline, accentuated by the economic crisis of the moment. Back in present day, and more specifically its Toledo Alcázar became a symbol of the Civil War during his long siege of the Alcázar. In 1983 it became the capital of Castilla-La Mancha, is also capital of the homonymous province.
