Photographer’s Note

The Cathedral of Toledo is a building of the classic gothic period, initiate in 1226 on the Greater Mosque of Toledo. The first teacher - Martin took care of the beginning of girola. Soon the teacher Petrus Petri stands out to him taking care of the high parts of girola, creating so famous the intercrossed arcs of Arab type. Girola would be finished definitively around year 1289.

During century XIV one advances in the construction of the ships and the covers are realised. The complex head is most excellent, by the original thing of the solution, to vault the irregular sections consequence of the curve of girola. This solution is based on the creation of triangular and rectangular sections. The rectangular outer sections come to ruin in semicircular walls and the rest in flat wall, creating a great number of chapels.

Also the polilobulados and intercrossed arcs of triforio of girola of Muslim origin are remarkable and that in spite of being realised in a city of great Muslim tradition puts a note of exotismo in this gothic cathedral of European tradition.

Hola Elena!!

Gran imagen... lo primero que he recordado al verla es algo que me enseñó en el instituto la profesora de arte... y es que para dar idea de volumen a una obra arquitectónica había que inclinar un poquito la cámara, y de esta manera el ángulo nos proporciona esa "ilusión óptica"... así que muy bien!!

Hola Elena.
Muy buena foto de la catedral, buen POV y encuadre, la iluminacion esta bien compensada y la definición así como los detalles son estupendos.
Aquí te copio unas excelentes sugerencias para cuando la foto tiene distorsiones, por ejemplo la torre que se ve desviada. Esta en Ingles pero veo que lo escribes muy bien, me lo envió una gran amiga y gran fotógrafa de TE. Espero que te pueda ayudar.

Here is what to do to correct distortion in Photoshop

If the distortion is symmetrical; that is if it needs the same adjustment at both sides the easy way is to go to filter>distort>lens correction and a whole page comes up. For perspective correction see about halfway down and play with the sliders. However you often need to do different amounts of correction on different sides and I haven’t figured out if there is a way with this filter, so this is what I do:-

*Press ctrl and A and you will get the selection lines around all the image.
*Go to edit>transform> distort (skew will do the same)
*Maximise your image so you get the grey canvas background and you can see what you are doing
*Notice the little squares in all four corners of the image.
*Click on the corner you want to adjust and hold down ctrl at the same time and pull the little square. If you forget to hold ctrl both sides adjust together.
* You can pull all the corners individually in the same way. You can pull in any direction.
* If you want to be sure you have got it straight you can put a grid on by going to View>show>grid. Get the grid off by doing the same thing. (Good for horizons too)
*When you are satisfied double click inside the image and that will accept the adjustment.
*To get rid of the selection lines click ctrl and D
*No doubt you will need to crop afterwards as you will lose some of the image.

Hola Elena,
¿sabes? Toledo es una ciudad que he visitado varias veces y que me encanta, por su ambiente, su arquitectura, su historia, su barrio judío y sus callejuelas. A pesar de las cuestas, me gusta mucho pasear por su casco viejo, especialmente por la Catedral y la calle de Santo Tomé. Y me encanta el mazapán!
Esta antigua foto del elegante campanario de la Catedral me trae buenos recuerdos, yo también tomé alguna parecida, pero la luz no era buena y no la he presentado.
Buen encuadre y perspectiva.

Hola Elenita , gran disparo aunque sea de hace años , ya apuntabas buenas maneras ,jajaj. Lastima que este cortada la parte de abajo porque es una puerta increible.Buena luz y buena definición .Que la torre se observe inclinada no le quita merito a la imagen con muchos detalles interesantes .

Fui a ver esta catedral en el año pasado. Encontraron que reina en la ciudad de Toledo una atmósfera extraordinaria, muy libera… los colores en esta ciudad es muy especial y la cultura espanola es omnipresente.
Tu fotografía representa bien muy el impresión que tuvieron de este lugar. ¡Adiós!

Hola Elena,
Es desesperante, por no decir imposible, sacar una toma de la torre y la fachada de esta catedral entera, a no ser que hagamos como nuestro amigo Jose (Stego) y la saquemos a trozos para luego unirlos, o llevemos un "super-gran-angular".
De todas formas se puede apreciar su belleza en tu foto sobre todo por el campanario con estupenda luz y definición.
