Oropesa es un municipio de la provincia de Toledo.
Se sitúa entre la Sierra de Gredos y el río Tajo, muy próxima a la ciudad de Talavera de la Reina.
Los Álvarez de Toledo se esforzaron durante años en convertir a Oropesa en capital del condado, en una auténtica fortaleza señorial.
Hoy en día, sus imponentes edificaciones son los testigos que nos hablan de su pasado histórico.
Visitar y descubrir Oropesa es acercarse a una villa medieval salpicada de monumentales conventos, iglesias, palacios y su poderoso castillo.
Una de las antiguas puertas de la muralla y lugar
donde está el actual Ayuntamiento. Es el centro de la vida local. En ella está el llamado "Reloj de Villa" que data del 1900, sustituyendo a otro que se derrumbó. Debajo de éste estuvo situada (hasta el S. XVIII) una antigua Fábrica de Sedas. Encima de la torre del reloj se pueden ver enormes nidos de cigüeña.

One of the ancient gates of the wall and place
where is the current council. It is the heart of local life. It is called the "clock Villa" dating from 1900, replacing one that collapsed. Underneath it was located (until S. XVIII) a former silk factory. On top of the clock tower can be seen huge stork nests.

bella vista del campanile con ripresa in verticale.
Ottime le luci, che permettono di risaltare al meglio ogni particolare.
Ci vedo persino un uccello in volo vicino la torre.

Io, visto che sai usare molto bene il clone, avrei tolto il furgone bianco posteggiato sulla destra.

Ho visitato la fabbrica dei coltelli.
Ho visto li vicino una muraglia che fa pensare molto a quella cinese per il tipo di architettura.

Hola Charo,
the tower and its colour stand out very nice against the blue sky. A bit funny view through the gate with car on our side and a lot on the other. Warm impression by the shadows and tones.

Fascinating to find such a tower above the gate. The view through the gate to the colourful city is very beautiful. I like the detail of the stork nests. When I hear anything about storks I immediately think at Spain. Very interesting note.
