Photographers Note
Watching carnival in Toledo I found numerous costumes imitated priests' or nuns' outfits. Often provocative with some porno or sado-maso elements included.
This "Archbishop" who took a part in a day-time procession was spontaneously honored by the people from the crowd. The accidental women kissed his ring.
Have a feeling that in Poland we are far less flexible about the "Church" theme. Good or bad..??
How shall we treat such a performance: as profanation or in opposition: just a"healthy" attitude towards authorities?
Surely a subject for sociological and philosophical debate?

Pozdrawiam.

Hi Agnieszka,
I simple believe that carnival is the only time in year to break taboos.. to play a role that you don´t play normally. Of course the "church" genre is a current one.. due to the strange and non-contemporary developments in Vatican and surroundings..
Amazing, how your pics always have a deeper meaning than it seems at first sight..
Compliments, Chris

pozdrawiam,
