‘Toledo - In the curve of the Tajo’

Toledo is an amazing city full of beautiful architecture. I found it great to walk around in town aimlessly and to discover its historical and architectural treasures.

But the walk that I most appreciated was the one along the south bank of the river Tajo, the opposite river bank from the town.

You can cross the Tajo on the Puente de Alcántara (east side of Toledo), follow the road along the river. and later cross the Puente de San Martin (west side of Toledo) to return to the centre. Or vice versa.

All along the way you have stunning views over the town and its monuments, views that ressemble 'Storm over Toledo', the famous work of the Cretan painter Domenikos Theotokopoulos, better known as El Greco.

The higest point you can go to is the hill behind the parador from where you can even see the part of town behind the cathedral and the alcázar en the fields at the other side of Toledo.
This picture is not taken from there because I wanted to include the Tajo and this view you have from a hill closer to the river.
