Photographer’s Note
Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, Cuenca spreads out below the ruins of the Arab castle, the former fortress of Kunka. The modern area of this small city lies below on the Júcar plain.
The old part of Cuenca is surrounded on three sides by a deep gorge carved out by two rivers, the Júcar and the Huécar. Cuenca is famous for its 15th Century "hanging houses" (casas colgadas), that appear to be hanging on to the cliffs edge.

Hola Oscar!
Foto muy bonita! Las casas se destacan bien del cielo gracias a una magnifica luminosidad. Esto da mas misterio a este pueblo. Bella composicion!
Pace e salute

Hola Oscar!
What great photo. To be honest I've been looking for Cuenca photos for some time and yours is the best I found, have a very good POV. This is the only that remain isn't it (I think one is a restaurant and the other a museum)? Have you take more as good as this in Cuenca?
Kisses

Such a most brilliant picture, so clear. Wonderful the sky and not to speak about the houses. Great architecture in those days. Wish they would come back ...

Beautiful picture that has been spoiled a bit by poor post-processing. The contrast in the building is very good, but the sky looks awfull and shows severe banding. Not really like a photo anymore.
Sorry about that.
You are added to my favorites list btw :-)
Does that sounds contradictionary ?

Hola Óscar.
Me gusta mucho la foto, pero déjame decir que el cielo tiene un poco de irreal que no acaba de convencerme.
Igualmente, una foto espectacular.

hoa oscar,
this is the type of architecture which i love: forbidden places, bit neglected, but with tons of charm;
this is a great warm shot, love it;
best wishes, j.

I actually like the sky. So it "doesnt look like a photo" no harm done there if that was the case, and anyway, I still think it looks like a photo. Great contrasts here.

Hola Oscar,
I have heard about the beauty of Cuenca but unfortunately I never managed to get there, so I appreciate to see your photo, in addition to the nice suject offered by these old houses hanging on the edge of void, I appreciate here the very good light on them and its contrast against the dark clouds, I think as an alternative a vertical framing concentrated on the main house could have worked well too in showing a bit mor eof the cliff and thus enhancing its hanging character, just an idea.
Have a nice day,
Jean-Yves

Hi Oscar
wonderful compo and POV, colourful and vivid.
Just a short question:
Is the sky added ex post? There is a lot of HELO effect at the edges which come through such kind of post-procedures ??
Anyway, nice at all.
Speak to you

I randomly happened upon this photo when I was actually searching for a photo in Colombia. This is the first time I've seen a photo of this site. The drastic house on the cliff, and the impressive balconies really draw your attention.
You captured it in good lighting, perhaps the PP in the sky is a bit too much, but overall it is beautiful.
I am saddened seeing this place and how close it is to Madris (as I spent 3 weeks in Spain this past March) opting to go to Salamanca and then further south. Guess I'll have to visit here next time.
Regards,
David
