Photographers Note
Peņa Remoņa (2229m) is a mountain in the Picos de Europa, a small, but very beautiful mountain range in the Cantabrian Mountains (Cordillera Cantábrica) in the north of Spain. The story goes that the Picos de Europa were the first sight of Europe when the sailors came back from America (they start only 20 kms from the sea), hence the name, which literally means 'peaks of Europe'.
The light is very soft here as it is filtered by some thin clouds and fog rests of the day before when all of the Picos was filled with fog. We did a hike, just a little right of the middle of the photo, towards the lovely valley behind the Peņa Remoņa. I hope to post some more pictures in the near future.
PP: levels slightly corrected, cropped, rescaled and sharpened and border added; all with GIMP.
