Travelling just a short distance from the resorts of Tenerife it is possible to find gems of the typical Canarian architecture, scattered in some of the towns of the island.
The town of La Orotava (pop. 40,000) is one of those picturesque places, just a few kilometers uphill from the coast of Puerto de la Cruz.
Here - a couple of houses with the characteristic Canarian balconies, especially the long ones on the top floors.
The town is also famous for the Corpus Christi celebrations in June; a religious "fiesta" with processions, events, dance and artwork.
I believe that the colorful decorations that can be seen in the shot are related to the incoming celebrations. |

Hello Daniël,
Very nice picture with all these metal balconies.
Good perspective through the excellent choose of your angle.
The green plants in foreground and the colourful decoration make the picture nice.
Very well done.
Best regards,
John.
