The auditorium of Santa Cruz, capital of Tenerife.

Designed by Santiago Calatrava.

Height of the roof: 58 meters.

The curving roof has been designed to look like an incoming crashing wave.

Capacity of the auditorium: 1,800 seats.

Completed: Fall 2003.

I like all creations of Calatrava. My favourit is Cuidad de las Artes y las ciences. Nice POV and shot.

What a crazy architecture ! It's true tht it looks like a wave, which is quite a nice idea for Canarias ! Your POV is perfect to feel it, I like a lot the symmetric way you choose. And the beautiful lightness add a lot too. Great one !

this a beautiful peace of architecture and you presented it well with its beautiful symmetry. A crashing wave...yes, it looks like but for me it looks like a cobra and its beautiful majesty. Well done!

Hi Daniel.
I've read in lower critiques from other members here that it looks like a stone cobra,it's true!But sincerely,at first sight it remember me a big big frog with the mouth open :/
I like your POV,it seems to me very original,I can resist to some kind of symmetrical shots,like this one.I think one person in the scene gives more magnitude to the building,but also could break the symmetry(as in the WS),so I think I prefer the picture in this way.Nice soft colours too.

gigantic contemporary sphinx of tenerife... been there, didn't find the thing...
excellent choice to go for symmetry as the building itself cries for it...unusual place....
perhaps a deeper blue of the sky would underline the massiveness of the building even more...
anyway,

Hi Daniel,
Your setting is perfect to show us the spectacular geometry of Calatrava's design, one of the most international Spanish architects, and that I like much.
This building with a few allegoric shapes to the waves and the sea has a fantastic effect in your photo, and you have caught it with a magnificent light and a few perfectly saturated colors.
It is a very beautiful photo.
