Arriving Masca by car but leaving by feet!
We trekked the beautiful but hard trail from the village down to the beach on the Atlantic Ocean, through the gorge. The trail is a popular, though strenuous, hiking route, which takes about 3 hours. Next morning my muscles were stiff and painful but all was worth of trekking.
The photo is not the best one because of the contrast of shadows and bright sunlight but anyway I like the atmosphere of the area.
Masca is a small mountain village on the island of Tenerife. The village is home to around 80 inhabitants. The village lies at an altitude of 600 m in the Teno mountains, which extend up to the northwesternmost point of Tenerife. Until the 1960s the village was accessed only by paths and was inaccessible by roads. The centre of the village features a small square (plaza) and a small church. High mountains surround the tiny village.

I´ve heard a lot about this village and its unique and picturesque location.
And I can only say your fantastic shot confirms all I´ve heard about it.
Really beautiful place and superb presentation of it.I like your POV and the way you used the light.

You have written an interesting note and I can understand that your muscles might have been aching a little after such a strenous hike! I note that you drove there by car, so did you have to walk all the way back uphill the next day to get to your car? That would have been even harder work!
What a lovely place this must be, so remote and so distant from main centres of civilisation. Did you take pictures in the town itself? Or of the people? I had always thought that Tenerife was just a place for holdaymakers who wanted to lie in the sun and drink beer but this makes me realise that there are many other attractions too.
And this is a lovely photograph which really shows the remoteness of this place. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent details too.

I was also in Masca and I was horrified with the road. What an amazing setting. For me, it looks like a miniature Machu Picchu. Splendid presentation.
Original POV. I was so scared that I couldn't make photos :)
