Lanzarote is a popular destination for some of us who live in Britain. It is close to the Uk and has a warm, sunny climate and lots of activities, amenities, and lovely blue flag beaches to pick from. Farriones (now called "old town")is the original name for the resort town now called Puerto del carmen on the Lanzarote "holiday" coast. The old town harbour is picturesque, and is lined with lots of restaurants, bars, and shops to attract tourists. The harbour is unflatteringly called la Tinosa (loosely translated it means a shanty town) and is still an active fishing community...a good thing because you are guaranteed to get fresh seafood in the restaraunts and markets nearby. I took this shot across the harbour towards the cliffside villas from the quay on a very warm sunny June day.I know the buildings in the background are quite bright...but that is the point of the shot -to show the layers of contrast between the radiant whitewashed villas, colorful boats, and more subtle tones and textures of the lava rock and water. I hope that the viewer appreciates that.

Der Hintergrund ist zu hell, den würde ich dunkler machen. Aber ansonsten ein tolles Bild.

Nice shot Christopher, I like the colours and sharpness very much. I think maybe the composition could be improved by a shift left or right to include either the left boat fully or the right, as it kind of feels unfinished with half a boat showing on each side. But as it stands it is a nice summery, peaceful image. Very warm with the white buildings.
Please see what you think of my UK harbour shots.
Have a good day.
