Photographer's Note

Inside "Cueva de los Verdes", a cave formed from a volcano eruption in Lanzarote, the easternmost Canary Island, Spain.

The cave is approximately 7 km long but only 1 km is prepared for visits, with well marked paths and artificial illumination. The temperature inside remains around 20 degrees all year round and the overall structure of the cave is formed by two separate tunnels, one above the other.

Throughout the cave several minerals can be seen on the walls as well as rests of solidified lava that flew from the volcano towards the sea.
