Shipwreck, a photo from Lanzarote, Canarias

Photographer's Note

Shipwreck near Arrecife, capital city of Lanzarote, the easternmost of the Canary Islands, Spain.

This shipwreck is probably one of the photography subjects I was most excited about when I arrived in Lanzarote and, even though it was indeed a very nice photographic subject (IMHO), I soon discovered that the whole island is full of fantastic and somewhat strange landscapes that provided a lot of nice pictures when I returned home.

A superb subject , as you say , perfectly captured at the evening time . For sure thr best moment for this kind of scene .

Hello, wowo this is indeed a good subject for a photo. One doesn't naturally think of an abandoned ship as a tourist site. Good capture with fine lighting.

Hello Leonardo - I'm not surprised you were excited by this subject, I would be too and you have captured the old ship under excellent light. The rust and general decay is very nicely illustrated and I like your POV. Exposure is super with the softening of the water and sky. Warm regards Rosemary

ciao Leonardo,
the old ship take all the frame and then we can have a look to all the shades of colours on its rusty shell, due to this nice light from the right.
the long time exposure effect on the sea adds to the mood of the scene.

Impressive big wreck. Good side/back angle. And beautiful low sunset light. Yes, I'm sure rough nature of Lanzarote provides lots of photo opportunities. I'm actually a bit surprised how little there are images from Canaries, compared to how many people visit there.

this is a WOW photo and subject for me!!
absolutely LOVE it!
I like it so much that i'll have to put it in my Spain category and hopefully find it myself one day :)

So this shipwreck is not off the coast of Spain, its off the Canary Islands??

is it hard to reach and get to?
is it close to the beach?
