Photographer's Note

Gáldar, whose name derives from "Agaldar" and means "Royal City", is a city in the north of the island of Gran Canaria situated at the foot of the volcano Pico de Gáldar. The city was founded by the Spaniards in 1484 and was the capital of the island of Las Palmas before, but before the Guanche civilization was an important center and is very rich in archaeological sites. In the historic center of the city dominated by colonial buildings with wooden balconies.
