Photographer’s Note
Dunes Natural Park of Corralejo – nice place to see the natural and and geological diversity of Fuerteventura. The freshness of the crystal seas with the serenity of the sand dunes under blue sky is a true pleasure for the senses. Massive sand dunes lie on thenorthest part of the island, outskirts of the town Corallejo The monochrome landscape gives way to immense shimmering dunes, reminding you of Saharan Morocco, which lies just 60 miles to the east. The sand is very light-coloured and fine. Dunes, featured in a number of films and TV shows, are now a protected national park - Parque Natural de las Dunas de Corralejo. The area of dunes is 11 km long. From the beach you have a fantastic view of the islands "Los Lobos" and "Lanzarote".'The area i s also „Special Protected Zone for Wild Birds“.
