Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, in a region of sand dunes, called Corralejo.

The picture is a scan from an old Ekthachrome 200, and I know the quality is not the best, but I always liked this picture and this place.

Hello,
Here's another photo that reminds me of a painting, this time an abstract from the 1950's. A very interesting division of the picture into clearly defined fields.

Questa foto di per sè è fantastica, ha solo dei problemi di rumore. Ho fatto un ws con Neat Image e, avendo l'originale, si può fare ancora meglio.

Hello Stefano,

I just spent a long, long time going through your wonderful gallery. So many great shots! This drew my special attention, not only because I like its natural geometry and colour scheme, but also because of the WS.

Your scan "is not the best" quality, as you say, but I'm not 100% convinced about the WS either. In a reply on my "Long Walk Home" (which you also commented on, for which: thank you), in that reply I compared this to the vinyl/CD debate. In both cases I'm not quite sure where I stand. Both have their advantages. Here I think the grains in your original add a mystique, a certain photographical "je ne sais quoi" to the image that the cleaned version in the WS does not have.
So...where do you stand? Do you now use a digital 'cleaning' program?

In this moment I'am very interesded by dunes...
This shot from canarias I like it because of the 4 colors you got in horizontal stratification.
just the sharpness... but the scan!
