As well as watching (and trying to photograph) the excitement of the trotting races at the Hipodromo de Maˇ, it's also interesting to take a walk around the back of the arena to the stables and watch the preparations being made before the races.
Here you can clearly see the light "chariot" on which the "rider" or driver sits during the race and I liked the oblique evening sunlight as it lit up the plastic wheel covers and the tail of the horse as it was being groomed.
You can see a larger version on "beta" TE here.

Nice shot of this little chariot, and the horse is receiving a lot of care and attention, two people taking care of him! I love how the light has brightened up the wheels like this, and that swooshing tail. I can almost sense the excitement of the horse!
We sometimes see in Ireland, people racing these on the roads, and it is known as Sulky racing. (I think the carriage is called a sulky by some). Needless to say its extremely dangerous and illegal. This looks like the perfect setting for such sport.
have a good day

This is an interesting subject and a beautifully composed shot, having a natural, diagonal movement from f/g to b/g.
The light is giving nice illuminations and contrasting shadows.
The problem, as far as I can ascertain, is the viewpoint; not that you had an option, in this case. People, unless they have a strange disposition, would rather look at the face of a horse than its bum! Although we have the face of one figure, I would suggest that the horse is the focal point and it would be more satisfying to see the horse's face and that of one of the figures, rather than the other way round.
Technically, there is no problem.
I hope that makes some sense, John!
Have a lovely Sunday,

this looks like it could be fun, though I have to admit I am not sure I would want to sit on that little cart for too long. It is a fascinating candid shot with obviously a lot of debate and effort going into the preparations here. Nice use of the light and shadows to enhance the effect and as usual immaculate sharp detail and clarity. I assume you stayed for the race so it begs the question did No. 9 win?
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

you know i'm a fan of your trotting race photos, you do a fine job in creating something special with these.
the most special area in this scene has to be the light on the wheels. My eyes are drawn immediately to that area and stay focused there for some time.
it helps too that #9 is my favorite number :)
