Wandering aimlessly around the main square in Es Castell in Menorca with my camera on a quiet Sunday morning, I was admiring the wonderful deep maroon colour of the buildings surrounding the square. Then this lady walked slowly past me and I just had to take her photograph as she passed by this window.
Where was she going? To her home or maybe going shopping? Or perhaps, unlike me, returning from having been at church?

il colore forte è una grande attrattiva, ma la donna è fondamentale per la riuscita della foto.
Mi piace molto anche il riflesso della finestra, c'è una luce calda molto accattivante.

Hello dear friend
nice and simple shot the right timing
here we have a dynamic contrast between
the colors of the wall
I like this woman walking across
the wall usual scenery from daily life

Could it be the intense colour of the wall that attracts me to this photo among the thumbnails? Or was it the pleasant simplicity of the composition? Probably a combination of the two. This photo fits very well the idea that "less is more". The expression may be a cliché but it is usually quite correct. A wall, a window, a woman, nothing else (not even any rubbish in the street) and nothing more needed. Excellent exposure and sharpness, as always.

Without the lady the picture would look much less interesting. The maroon coloured wall makes a fascinating BG and of course the wide window frame nicely frames an intriguing reflection. I wonder what the effect would be of reversing the picture so that she was walking in to it!
Gorgeous clarity and very well observed indeed.
Kind Regards, Ann

so this must be a different spin on the 'lady in red' theme eh?
obviouslsy the red stands out like a sore thumb, but in a good way. While the white trim is the perfect contrast to offset that powerful punching red.
my only suggestion would be to wait just a LITTLE bit longer so she is passed the trim. But thats me sitting here saying that...perhaps it was a grab shot and you had to capture it quickly, or something along those lines?
smart use of the available subjects provided to you, which were not many :)
enjoy your day

These picture is very nice through the nice old catered lady walk in the street past the window.
Composition and subject make these picture attractive.
Colours and presentation are pleasant to look at.
Very well done, TFS.

intriguing candid image this. It adds another dimension to the image and that little touch of mystery. I am also intrigued by the reflections in the window, can make out a car door, but not anything else. Nice slice of life image.

I like very much how you combined the two subjects in this picture, turning the casual scene into a strong and intriguing composition. I also like that your point of view is not straight onto the window, this makes your composition original, exalts the reflections and gives the lady more space to walk, making us wonder about her destination. The colours of the building are very attractive, the rigid railing and the fluid reflections add much interest to the large window. The lady's pace has been captured excellently too. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great day,

You are having fun with street scenes and people. Clodo will be amazed at his influence!
This is a particularly good example because of its rich colours and very simple subject. There is so much to applaud from your sharp textural details to the nicely angled viewpoint.
I wonder if you spotted her and saw the potential just a little late, for it would be even more attractive with the lady the other side of the window, walking into the shot.
Have a great day,

Surely you were also at church? Saying your Hail Hoozawotzits ;) What a beautiful moment you have captured. The vivid red of the building is very striking and provides a very dynamic background for this lady on the move. You contrast the image really well too, the white trim superbly bright. A photo with a story behind it, that gets us asking those questions in your note.
Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful day

Hello, this image captures me. Why? The simple bold lines, the angles and the strong colors. A photographic moment caught forever.

Hi John,It was a Sunday, most likely that the lady went to church, however, the mystery remains .... ehehehe .... the photo is very beautiful and original, a minimalist composition well contrasted with brilliant colors, great job!Have a nice WE and thanks,Luciano

I feel you want to try street phtography as your last posts show some ordinary people wandering in the streets.
The red color of the wall is attractive, and you framed also the window, waiting for someone to come and fill the empty place at left. Here she comes, but maybe you push the trigger a little bit too early, she overlaps the white frame. (see my WS)
