Photographer's Note
Another picture taken in May of this year in Ciutadella, a picturesque city in the northwest of Menorca which was, in fact, once the capital city of Menorca. The capital, since 1722, is now Maó or Mahon, in the southeast part of the island. There are lots of beautiful and quaint little streets in Ciutadella where it is just wonderful to wander around, explore or get lost!
Again, this was taken during a very enjoyable and instructive photographic holiday in Menorca with Philip Dunn - highly recommended!
Shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE9.

Hello John,I like the position of the cyclist as she glides gently into the sun lit alleyway, that was good timing, your light management is good here, with plenty of detail in the shutters and texture on the walls.
Best regards Les.

Ciao John
Another cute litle sidestreet you've found yourself in. Wandering around these alleys is one of the most enjoyable things one can do when in a plce like this. Of course the first thing that hits me is the excellent management (both in-camera and post) of the light and shadow. The two extremes were evened out extremely ell. The second is the magnificent warm colours and the third would be the details of the characteristic architecture you've so ably captured. I've read up on your link, what a pity he doesn't operate on this side of the globe, although I'm sure there are many that do the same thing. What a thoughtful gift from your wife, she should get the 2 points today :)
Un abbraccio
Lisa
PS: I'm off to get myself a new laptop after my poor baby cacked itself whilst away with work. Any suggestions? I've also packed off your disk hopefully it will arrive in time for Santy

Hi John,
An intelligent framework, which suggests the façades a little farther while avoiding an excessively centered view that would not have permitted to see this angle on the front of the left. Well done the presence of this bike, I hope you have not waited too long human presencefor the place looks deserted!
Sincerely,
Delphine

Hello John,
The cyclist makes an dramatic focal point for the photo, with the varied yellow walls offering an effective backdrop. I've never seen Menorca, but such quaint images certainly make it an enticing island to visit.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi John, I see you are still in these quaint side streets in Ciutadella, Menorca, we have a glimpse of around the corner ahead giving us a go and explore feel, love the colours on the houses, the dappled sun light playing on the cobbles, the lady on her bike peddling off to the place we want to go. Bravo, Tfs, Cheers Iain.

hi john,
the light here is excellent and has helped create wonderfully warm and appealing colour tones. the woman on the bike is positioned very well and brings the viewer along with her through the interesting and winding little streets.

Hello John,
I like this type of street photography where some human activity is caught amongst beautiful old streets. I like the woman cycling along the charming, narrow street. The colour of the child seat is eye catching and contrasts with the typical earthy colours of the buildings. Great exposure with lots of texture caught. You have a collection of really fine images from Menorca.
Best wishes, Ann

Hello John - I like the way you have used the tight framing on the RHS to focus our attention on the cyclist. We hug the wall as we follow her progress down the cobbled lane and get the merest glimpse of the sunlit alley she is heading towards. Wonderful strong colours and contrast where the blacks and yellows are king, very good light management too. Warm regards Rosemary

Hello John,
Wonderfull capture with perfect pov.
The red baby saddle of the biker creates a nic contrast with the dominant yellow color of the surrounding buildings.
TFS and best regards
