White and Blue Photo

Photographer’s Note

This bell tower is the symbol of one of the most famous places in Menorca: the "old" fishermen's village of Binibeca Vell.
The village is situated in the south coast and it is characterized by white houses putted side by side forming a labyrinth of narrow street with stairways, arches and little tunnels. Every balcony is decorated with flowers and there is a relaxing atmosphere even because there is a strict duty of silence. So a moltitude of tourists with their cameras walk through the streets in perfect silence trying to take photograph of this magic places but...they are disappointed when they discover that the village was built in the Sixties by the architect Antoni Sines.
And, yes, I have to say that the village give the impression to be a little artificial but I think that it must be visited because it is really cute and we can consider it as an openair artwork!

I like how this simple view fills all the image, the way the building contrast against a magnificient blue sky...yes, this is Menorca...this is Mediterranean!! Great note and an elegant frame!

Ciao cara Elena,
eh si, un salto lo faccio volentieri nella tua galleria, e vedo con piacere che nel frattempo hai postato bellissime foto.
Quest'ultima si fa molto apprezzare per la semplicità delle linee e per il gran gusto che hai avuto nel comporla. Il titolo poi la dice tutta sul gran bel contrasto bianco-blu.

Colores mediterráneos, sin duda. En un principio había pensado en Grecia, pero al veer que se trataba de Menorca, he pensado: que más da, es el mismo blanco y azul.
