Valle de Lago está situado a 7 Km. de Pola de Somiedo, a 1200 metros de altitud, con 124 habitantes de los 1664 de Somiedo, tiene una densidad de población de 4,16 por km2. (102 en Asturias y 5,71 en Somiedo), 72 viviendas de las 888 de Somiedo, y ocupa una superficie de 29,76 kilómetros cuadrados de los 291,38 del concejo.

Charo,
a fantastic palce with a good composition in this image. The light was terrific but also very difficult to be managed. Especially when there is snow that refelcts light so easily. This is tpically the most difficult moment to photograph. The last sun light hitting the peaks while the rest is already deep in the shadows. Obviously the peaks get very overexposed. The solution? Multiple shots (bracketing) to put it together later in the PP process or using a ND grad filter. Latter is difficult to achieve a uniform effect due to the uneven landscape so probably the better solution would be the bracketing.
Having spend all this on the technical details of the shot now something about the shot itself. You achieved a tremendous modd and atmosphere. I like you you included the branches in the foreground.

This is a fine study in blue Shades! Your composition is great using the reflection to provide depth and balance for the shot. The tree branches do a nice job of breaking up the symmetry of the shot. The lighting and color (shades of blue) are fantastic as is the sharpness and detail.

Bonjour Charo ,
Quel beau paysage , avec de superbes effets de lumière et le magnifique reflet . Bien sûr , on peut trouver l'image un peu trop bleue . Mais comme l'explique Peter , c'est un sujet difficile à réaliser . Alors on ne retient que la beauté de ces montagnes et de ce miroir .

La concentracion de azul es muy bonita. Me gusta como los arboles encuadran el reflejo y como hay un poquito de sol tocando la nieve.

A wonderful rendition of fading light and the beauty it can create especially that beautiful and amazingly deep blue sky . The reflection of the mountains in the lake is stunning, so still and serene, it looks like a mirror. Very well done!

I can only agree with Peter. These pictures are not that easy to make in light and shadow. The balance is great, just as the reflection and that small part of sunlight on the left...greay shot.

Wow are those blues sumptuous! My favorite bit are the branches in the foreground. I can't quite make out if they are reflections or not. Great framing on the sunlit peak.

Hi Charo,
All I can say is absolutely magnificent image. The location seems so peaceful and away from all troubles in the world. The monochromatic effect of the blue tones has created a very appealing result, which is made even better by the small contrast of sunlight on the mountain peaks. The reflections in the still water improve the composition further, and overall technically superb. Very well captured.

Se que estoy en defecto contigo pero mi trabajo y vida privada me mantienen bastante ocupado y trato de entrar a TE lo mas que puedo en los momentos libres, pero nada ya cubriré todas tus fotos.
Creo que Peter tiene razón en algunos puntos de su critica, pero para la hora que la tomaste con poca luz te ha quedado muy bien, es muy difícil manejar la iluminacion en esas ocasiones. De todas maneras encuentro tu foto muy buena.

Hola amiga Charo,
la baja luminosidad en esta foto creo que es lo que la hace más atractiva y misteriosa. El nivel cromático, con la dominante azul que contrasta con la blancura de la nieve, es grandioso, tiene mucha fuerza visual y engancha la mirada.
Y los reflejos, ¿qué puedo decir?, que son impresionantes y muy bonitos, crean una simetría horizontal perfecta y así disfrutamos de la belleza de este paisaje por partida doble.
Has hecho una gran foto aquí, es realmente muy bonita. Además, los WS también son una estupenda ayuda para conocer este lugar espléndido.

great timing on this one. this 'deep blue' probably did not last for more than a view instants. well managed exposure too, given the light difference between the spots lit up by the fading sun and the shadow.

Estoy contigo en que el azul griego es distinto a cualquier otro, quizá sea el azul del Mediterráneo en sí, ya que otros lugares más o menos próximos los tonos son parecidos.

stupenda cattura dell'ora blu, l'ultima ora del giorno prima della notte. Questa è una foto molto difficile da fare con questo bellissimo risultato, considerando anche la poca luce che avevi a disposizione. Hai fatto veramente una foto piacevole, specialmente per chi ama il blu come me. Bravissima!

Splendid winter composition using expert light management to achieve the subperb white balance of the snow making for a brilliant contrast with the varying shades of vivid blue.
The little bits of wispy clouds peeking around the snow capped peaks adds alot to this super shot.
