Santa María del Naranco es una iglesia prerrománica asturiana situada a tres kilómetros de Oviedo, sobre la ladera sur del Monte Naranco que originalmente fue palacio del rey Ramiro I.

El edificio fue mandado construir por Ramiro I como palacio, siendo acabado en el año 842 d.C, formando parte de un complejo arquitectónico que también comprendía la cercana iglesia de San Miguel de Lillo, erigida a tan solo cien metros de distancia. Sin embargo, a causa del derrumbamiento de la cabecera y de parte de las naves de San Miguel fue transformado en iglesia a finales del siglo XIII. Se ubica en la ladera meriodional del Monte Naranco donde existía un bosque en el que abundaba la caza, por lo que hubo de tener carácter de palacio de campo o residencia real dedicada al ocio.

Declarada Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, en diciembre de 1985.

Santa Maria del Naranco is a pre-Romanesque church Asturian located three kilometers from Oviedo, on the southern slope of Mount Naranco which was originally palace of King Ramiro I.

The building was commanded by Ramiro I built as a palace, being finished in the year 842 AD, as part of a building complex that also included the nearby church of San Miguel of Lillo, erected just a hundred meters away. However, because of the collapse of the head and part of the craft of San Miguel was transformed into a church in the late thirteenth century. It is located on the slopes of Mount Naranco meriodional where there was a forest in which abounded hunting, so it had to be a palace or a royal residence field devoted to leisure.

Declared a World Heritage by UNESCO in December 1985.

Wow Charo, me gusta la claridad de colores y la luz, la iglesia es muy bonita has cogido una perspectiva muy atractiva, me gustaron el contraste de verdes con la iglesia, el cielo esta genial, la nota muy documentada como siempre :)

Charo,
Nice composition here with the off center placement of the tower. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and DOF. The people add a nice sense of scale to the shot.

Bella vista della chiesetta.
Gradisco molto il POV che hai scelto, infatti la vista decentrata, prevalentemente sulla sinistra del fotogramma, permette di vedere il prato circostante e il paesino in collina, sullo sfondo.

Ottima luce e bel contrasto!

Hola Charo,
He visto tu galería y digo que eres muy lista a fotografiar todos los lugares hermosos de España, país que yo amo porque he vivido once años en Navarra (Tudela) siendo mi madre española.
¡Qué lástima que no he visto fotos en TE de Navarra, del Ebro, de la Rioja y las fiestas de San Fermin.
Espero que alguien se acuerde de Navarra, reyno antiguo de las cadenas que se encuentran en el emblema de la bandera española.

A beautiful historical architectures built with stones, nice to see it design with staircase at outside connect to first floor where different with others architectures normally have only indoor staircase, thanks for sharing.

Les églises pré-romanes sont assez rares. Celle-ci est étonnament conservée. Une très belle image pour la décrire, un document intéressant.

Hola Charo,
un encuadre en ligero contrapicado realmente espléndido. Gracias a eso podemos disfrutar de esta maravillosa joya del Románico, en una imagen dinámica y con buena perspectiva hacia el cielo azul.
La asimetría y la organización de los elementos, como la gente y el paisaje al fondo, dan un gran nivel a esta composición.
Me gusta, es una foto limpia y atractiva.

Hola Charo.
Preciosa iglesia localizada en el tope de la montaña, me gusta mucho tu composición con la iglesia fuera del centro consiguiendo una buena perspectiva, tu POV y DOF son estupendos. Los colores suaves van muy bien con tu magnifica foto.
Si Dios quiere el próximo fin de semana estaré visitando Oviedo.

Asturias is one of the few part of Spain that I don't know but here really have to repair this soon.
This little church is magnificent and I like the placement on the left, leaving all the other side of the image with space to see the far distance and the beautiful sky.
