Photographer's Note

Southwest of the Plaza Mayor in Oviedo is located the Plaza de Daoíz y Velarde, surrounded by Baroque houses.
The Plaza de Daoíz y Velarde is a quiet, tree-lined plaza which offers a respite from the noisy marketplace and cafés of the adjacent Plaza Fontán. Especially when bathed in the late afternoon sunlight, it’s a beautiful place and home to the city library, a famous palace, a legendary fountain and, of course, a popular statue.
This square, along with the adjacent square Fontan, is one of the main meeting points in Oviedo.
People come here to visit with friends, take a few shots of cider and enjoy together.
It is also the place of the flower market.

Hi Eleni,
You have chosen a very good position for this picture, the perspective is very impressive. The focal point is at the triangular umbrella. The strong colours of the buildings are adding a lot of interest to the capture. A very pleasant dauly life street view wirh people that add life and interest.

Hi Eleni !!
give me vibrant colours any day ....... I just love them, like what you see in Mexico, Morocco, Brazil and some other places.
so this is a small plaza.. but looks cozy with good ambiance.
my eyes soon drift to the menus ...... hay mi Dios.... como me gusta la comida Espanola.
Me despido por hoy......... Golf in Torrey Pines this week end !!!

I would imagine how this plaza look if not painted so beautifull in diff. colors for each building, that's what makes this so attractive.
DOF and clarity notable, vibrant ambiance by the tourists sit and stroll over - and the lamp-post in an off-center position is great addition to the whole.

you are just showing one of those charming Spanish squares which are so characterisic for this country. Good POV and perspective and very nice composition. I love the vibrant colors and some human elements in your photo. Wouldn't mind to sit down for a cup of coffee there.
