La Torre de Santa María o Torre Santa de Enol, con sus 2.486 metros de altitud es la segunda cumbre en altura del Macizo Occidental de los Picos de Europa. Las primeras ascensiones datan de finales del siglo XIX, contándose a Labrouche y Saint Saud, ilustres visitantes de estas montañas, entre sus primeros conquistadores.

Esta imponente peña asturiana es una de las más populares de los Picos de Europa pues resulta accesible para todo tipo de montañeros con un mínimo de preparación.

En esta zona se solían ver los conocidos caballos asturianos "asturcones", en esta visita a los lagos sólo pude ver muchas vacas como la de la foto, haciendo su siesta o pastando. Foto tomada en una de las laderas que rodean al lago Ercina.

The Tower of Santa Maria or Santa Tower of Enol, with its 2,486 metres above sea level is the second summit at a height of the Massif of the Peaks of Western Europe. The first ascents dating from the late nineteenth century, counted Labrouche and Saint Saud, illustrious visitors from these mountains, among its first conquerors.

This majestic Asturian club is one of the most popular of the Picos de Europe because it is accessible to all kinds of mountaineers with a minimum of preparation.

This area used to see the famous horses Asturians "Asturcon" in this visit to the lakes only I could see many cows as that of the photo, making his nap or grazing. Photo taken in one of the hillsides surrounding the lake Ercina.

Bonjour Charo ,
Voilà un endroit que nous avons visité il y a plusieurs années . Et qui est vraiment splendide .
Tu as fait ici une composition très nette , agrémentée par la présence de la belle vache asturienne sur la droite .

hola charo

nice landscape with the cow bringing in a nice accent. looking at the workshops i almost lean towards preferring the second one (with 2 cows), but that puts more accent on the cows than the on la torre de santa maria :)

Hola Charo,
the cow is wonderful there, adds a lot of life. A pleasant capture of that alpine landscape with the snowy peaks. Good contrasts on the rocks.

Hi Charo!
A pretty different view from Spain... it looks like Switzerland! Of course, as I traveler, I know that you have such landscape up there and the "PICOS DE EUROPA" are pretty well-known by the ones who love getting to know other Countries! I was just kidding a bit! Hope you don't mind it!
Really enjoyed the picture, for its natural colors, POV and composition, adding that nice cow!

Beautiful mountains shot with wonderfully detailed snow capped peaks. The lone cow grazing gentely on this slope brings a very peaceful feel to this lovely capture.

Bonjour Charo,
Cet endroit est superbe, et j'admire la façon avec laquelle tu l'as photographié. La montagne est très belle, la nature est très belle aussi, mais la photo ne serait pas aussi agréable et intéressante sans la vache et sa position vers toi. Beau et plaisant travail.

Hola Charito:

Un aspecto bucolico excelentemente captado por tu lente. La profundidad de campo encierra un paisaje maravilloso, con variedad de tonalidades dispersas en la geografia.

El contraste de la vaca en la escena, esta bien distribuido en el encuadre. Adecuado manejo de la luz y de la composicion.

ah, that is fine! You have not had much luck with the weather as I see the sky covered by clouds. But despite it you were able to catch the dimensions, contrast the mounts clearly against the sky. The cow is a lovely gift to the very good alpine panorama. Congratulations!

Très joli paysage et excellente perspective. La vue est magnifique avec les montagnes enneigées en arrière-plan. Les rochers sont merveilleux et la verdure printanière au centre est superbe. La présence de l'animal complète le tout pour cette très belle photo.

Charo, those cows just couldn't be bothered could they. I think that the vantave point you have is the maximum I would venture up the mountain, and because of your beautiful shot I don't feel the need to risk life and limb and heart attack to climb further. Great capture.

La vista de la montaña es impresionante. Me gusta el revuelto de las rocas, el pequeño bosque en el medio y, claro, el aire curioso del buey mirando-nos desde su prado verde. Solo es pena que el cielo estuviese tan claro.

a wonderful and perfect composition with the view to the top of the mountain and the cow place d perfectly so off center as a special bonus and attraction to the landscape. it almsot gives the impression that the cow owns the place and let you graciously 'invade' her area and take a shot of where she lives.
