Photographer’s Note

Con esta imagen os quiero mostrar la Iglesia de San Pedro de Gijón, situada en la zona norte de la playa de San Lorenzo, sus cimientos reposan sobre otra Iglesia que data del siglo XV de estilo gótico, después de la guerra civil Española (1.936) se acabó de arruinar lo poco que quedaba del antiguo templo y por eso se comenzó a construir uno nuevo en 1.945, acabando los trabajo en 1.955, de su predecesora se pudo aprovechar la torre central y el pórtico de corte neoclásico, del resto apuntar que se recurrió al prerrománico asturiano.

En esta imagen intenté incluir la Iglesia como tema principal, pero mostrando un poco de su entorno, la escasa profundidad del agua creaba unos bellos cambios de colores y las nubes me ayudaron a embellecer el cielo.

Well done shot. The composition with the spit of land jutting into the water wroks well. Also, the church sitting so prominant along the waterfront gives great weight to the center level of the photo. Very well done.

Muy buena composicion otra vez, con punto de vista, poerspectiva y profundidad de campo impecables. Los colores tambien me gustan aunque yo preferiria la foto un poco mas oscura, pero sobre gustos no hay disputa. Yo siempre prefiero las fotos un poco mas oscuras para tener los colores mas saturados. Una imagen muy impresionante. Felicidades, amigo!

Buena vista y perspectiva de esta iglesia junto al mar, la verdad es que le da un aire muy interesante. Tienes razon con del agua se contrastan muy bien las tonalidades.

Realmente consigues el efecto que pretendes, la iglesia toma todo el protagonismo en la fotografia, pero enmarcada en un entorno privilegiado y bellisima, que actua como marco del edificio.
Me encanta la luz que has conseguido, y esas diversas tonalidad que comentas del agua, y es que verdaderamente esta muy muy cerca del mar!!!!

Strong leading lines in this fine composition!
Good colour palette, strong contrast on the rim of overexposure but still fine...
The sea is captured with good texture and the deep blue looks great!

Hola José,
una vista muy agradable de este rincón de Gijón. El muelle en diagonal y la iglesia frente al cielo, coincidiendo su cruce con la línea del horizonte del mar crean una buena geometría. Los colores están muy bien, y la foto tiene buena calidad y detalle. La luz era difícil de equilibrar, pero lo has hecho bien.

You mentioned the clouds in your note, but did you notice how they are in diagonal lines in opposition to the perspective diagonal of the sea-wall. I think that is what helps to make this such a successful image, along with the reflections in the water.

A nice diagonal composition and an interesting mix of three elements, earth, air and watter. Nice variations of colors in the sea, but perhaps a little pixelisation effect (but I can be wrong here).

Light might have been a bit too strong so the church may seem a bit overexposed but otherwise a very good image. Well composed with the water infront!
