Jacaranda Allée Photo

Photographer’s Note

The dominant street trees in Sevilla are jacaranda and orange. Visiting in May, we were too late for the scent of orange blossoms, but our timing was perfect for the lavender bloom of the (unscented) jacarandas. The purple-carpeted passageway in the photo was taken from the east side of Rio Guadalquivir just south of Puente del Alamillo on a wide pathway that borders the arterial road.

The jacaranda is native to the tropical and subtropical regions of the Americas. It would be interesting to know when they first appeared in Sevilla.

I immediatly recognize this place in Sevilla....it's pretty close to Place de Espana.
I love the slightly diagonal perspective and the lady walking away

This stunning mauve colours is really eyecatching and draws the attention at the first sight.
Wonderful spring...
You've composed your picture in a very good way, and done a great use of the trees to create a long perspective.
The timing is perfect to get a personn in your picture. Lucky you that she was in a red shorts : that makes the difference ;o)

Hi William,
Jacaranda one of my favorite trees which is also a prominent tree in SoCal.

Your angle and timing of leaf fall catches the colorful tree blosoms, pathway leading into the distance and a female for a bonus.

Une magnifique allée bordée d'arbres pour aller prendre une marche, non seulement les arbres sont fleuris mais le sol est jonché de fleurs et il me semble sentir le parfum. Bonne composition, bonne idée d'avoir inclus le personnage et superbes couleurs.
