Gert shows postcard from Warsaw, Craig shows the people from Istanbul, so from me football players and fans from Sevilla. Everyone (exept me:)) is probably spending time in front of TV screen, maybe it will be interesting to see this photo.
On my second evening in Sevilla I noticed a lot of people going somewhere. So I followed them to see what was going on. And it was a triumphal ride of new Champions, Sevilla FC. They moved slowely on a kind of moving platform. The people were enthusiastic, singing and shouting and it was fun to observe them.
Sevilla Fútbol Club, S.A.D. or simply Sevilla, is a Spanish football team. It currently plays in Spain's top flight, La Liga. The club was founded on 14 October 1905 and played its first La Liga season in 1934–35.evilla is the second oldest football club in Spain and the most successful club in Andalusia, winning a national league title in 1945–46, and five Copas del Rey. On the European level, it has won two consecutive UEFA Cups (2006 and 2007) and the 2006 UEFA Super Cup. They also won the Europa League in 2014. Sevilla have competed 67 seasons in the First Division and 13 in Second, a record which places as the seventh-best team in the history of Spanish league football.
In 2013, due to financial crisis the club were forced to sell players. The sale of Álvaro Negredo and Jesús Navas gave the club a combined €40 million, with the duo being replaced by younger players including Carlos Bacca and Kévin Gameiro. On 14 May 2014, the club defeated Benfica on penalties in the 2014 UEFA Europa League Final.

Nice festive moment. They sure did a great job winning the Europa League this season. But you know, I'm an Atletico Madrid fan so I say that the real champions in Spain are my "Atleti" :D

Nice action shot, and look at the sea of cameras! Wow. You did a really nice job in capturing the moment here, I can feel the excitement from this. Thanks as always

Bad timing! Spain has lost its first two matches in Brazil. They can still play a third match but not participate any further. After the great successes of the past six years this must be a hard nut to crack in Spain.
But the success on that day in May can be clearly deduced from the number of photographers that stood in front of you.
Best regards, Paul

una curiosa combinazione, trovarsi a Siviglia proprio il giorno dei festeggiamenti, di sicuro è molto meglio che trovarsi tra qualche giorno all'aeroporto....

Fun candid of Sevilla Futbol Club's players elevated above the admiring crowd, with cell phone cameras shooting away, though I think there is at least one camera shooter.
Our American football is much more violent, and after watching me play little league football at the age of 11, my Mother forbid me to play in high school later.
Thanks for sharing,
PS: I hope to return to the Eastern Sierra later in July if my family illness permits. In the meantime I am utilizing older photos, and hopefully will not repeat too many...

Kasia ma rację, dwie różne scenki w jednym, takie zdjęcia to szybkie strzały, albo wyjdą albo nie, Tobie się udało świetnie

You taking pictures of football fans is just as surprising as me taking the empty façade of a church :-). And you don't even want to go with the same bus as the Legia Warszawa fans! (I understand you. I always keep a safe distance to the local football hooligans). This is nicely composed with the fans and their cameras at the bottom, separated from the players by the red and white sign.

Good report from the past. Unfortunately, today the Spanish football team came back home without triumph from Brazil. I think there were the players from Sevilla too. Anyway they are heroes of sport, good capture of the moment of glory.
Glad to hear so good news from you ;)

Well, would you look at this...from someone who doesn't follow the sport seems to have done exactly that, and quite literally! haha Great shot, I can feel the excitement and vibrant jubilation being played out on the streets as the procession passes by. I love this framing too, catching everyone in front of you with their cameras and phones doing just the same thing. Fun and lively, I'm sure everyone had a good time that day. :) Enjoy the new day. All the best.
