This is a scanned reproduction of older color slide made in Antequera (Andalucia).
It portraits a young Gypsy mother and her child.
This family was living in houses carves out in the rocks to protect them against the very high summer temperatures in this region of Spain.
This very kind family even invited us to have a look in their living room. An unforgetable experience.

Je bent een interessante Spanje-reeks begonnen, maar om al die mooie landschappen te ontdekken had ik toch dit portret nodig, want daar hou ik uiteindelijk het meest van: interessante geportretteerden, liefst met een persoonlijke toets in 'het verhaal'. En dat is hier dus zeer zeker het geval.

Hi Eddie, For me this is a classic timeless documentary photograph ,it needs no words the image says it all.I find it interesting you took it from a high wide angle i suppose confined space,this seems to emphasize the stone floor .It has also scanned very well,one of your best.thanks Tom.

Erg goed portret Eddie. "Klassiek" reportageprotret, maar dan in de beste traditie.
Zelf was ik iets minder voor sepia gegaan en eerder voor echt zwart...
Maar een bijzonder document.
