This statue of San Sebastian stands in the plaza named for him in the town of Antequera in Andalucia, Spain.
San Sebastian was a captain of the Roman Praetorian guard in Spain. His duties included the capture and torture of Christians. In truth, he himself was a Christian and he embarked upon a charade whereby he treated his Christian prisoners kindly and when possible, assisted them to escape. He was discovered and refused to renounce his faith, for this he was sentenced to death by being shot full with arrows. He did not die so he was taken away and beaten to death, his body then thrown into a sewer.
Antequera is a wonderful town blessed with superb architecture. It is within reach of the southern coastal resorts of the Costa Del Sol. On the way there you will see the real Spain denied to those who stay on the beaches.
Due to the several vertical elements at varying distances and the slope of the plaza itself, I was forced to use the skew command to correct both verticals and horizontals, which brought the right tower perilously close to the top edge of frame so I added some canvas there and copied the sky colour. |

Hello Vic,
Very nice composition with pleasing tones and very good clarity. I think I would have cloned out the two individuals by the door but that's my personal preference.
Hi Vic,
Good documentary shot, your post processing is flawless. Well managed light.
With Greetings from India

Again I can't fault this capture Vic .. colour and sharpness and composition are spot on, it is just (pardon me ) a little boring somehow ...
