Alajar, Peña de Arias Montano

In the 16th century Philip II's confessor and theologian, Benito Arias Montano, came here on retreat. In 1576 Philip II himself paid a visit to the Peña and meditated here in a cave subsequently called the 'Sillita del Rey' (the King's Seat).

It has a wonderful whitewashed belfry set on the edge of the cliff away from the church.

THe Huelva region is one of the least visited by tourists, undeservedly so because it has incredible nature (ideal for walking and hiking), superb food and many little villages you can enjoy in peace.
I found the most incredible hospitality here.

Nobody was sitting there, on the top of those bell towers to interrupt your photo session...

Ciao Paperotta,
se non fosse per la bandiera a colori, sembrerebbe un bianco e nero con tonalità molto vive sui bianchi.
Ottimo taglio minimalista concentrato sulle due campane e particolare l'architettura in cui esse sono inserite.

Sicuramente una foto originale e pertanto valida per essere inserita nel mio tema specifico.

Carina. Non facile. Un pò sfocata la bandiera che sventola orgogliosa. Bel gioco di linee tra campane e "oblò" dell'edificio. Speriamo che la grondaia su cui ti sei arrampicata regga!
