My last contribution to funny or less funny board series.
Photo from Alhambra gardens in Granada.
Following the translation (the larger board is my insertion for better reading, the original board is left of it and the famous Cypress tree is right of the original board):
Legend says that this Sultana cypress witnessed the love affairs of a gentleman Abencerraje and wife of Boabdil.
Muhammad XI, d. 1538, last sultan of Granada in Spain (1482-92); also called Boabdil by the Spanish. He seized the throne from his father and thus plunged Granada into civil war at the time the Castilians were beginning their attack on the kingdom.
As the Christians overran western Granada, Muhammad secretly promised (1487) them that he would surrender the city of Granada in return for some cities held by the rival Granadian party. However, he repudiated the agreement, and in Apr., 1491, the Castilians laid siege to Granada.
After valiant resistance, Muhammad surrendered in Jan., 1492, and fled to Morocco. His surrender marked the end of Moorish rule in Spain, and he is the subject of a number of romantic legends.
The were a family or faction that is said to have held a prominent position in the Moorish Kingdom of Granada in the 15th century.
The story is told that one of the Abencerrages, having fallen in love with a lady of the royal family, was caught in the act of climbing up to her window.
The king, enraged, shut up the whole family in one of the halls of the Alhambra, and ordered the Zergis to kill them all. The apartment where this is to have taken place is one of the most beautiful courts of the Alhambra, and is still called the Hall of the Abencerrages.
Many poems and plays, and two operas mention the legend, but the whole story is doubtful, because the best historians do not mention it.
My friends, this is my last photo for next 14 days. I hope I’ll be able to post some interesting photos from my upcoming trip to Indian Kerala.
SEE YOU SOON.

this is a very interesting presentation and, in my opinion, one of the best of your latest series. Even if you could have opted for presenting a close up to the sign in the workshop, I think that you've managed to integrate it in your composition very effectively. The sign gains much more interest by the wonderful context of the garden. I like vry much the textures, the colours and the atmosphere. Your note is fascinating. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great journey,

Thks to your narratives, an intriguing story telling picture and the bold signboard with history and legend especially the inclusion of the old Cypress tree - the living witness. The composition is impressive with the sky and green offer some nice deep colors complementing the shot very nicely. This looks very quiet but so peaceful that you have managed to isolate this from any distraction. Fine shot, both in content and write-ups. I'd be more than pleased with this. Congrats.

Firstly we will await your visit to Sydney Australia & Gus & I would be honoured to show you around the City of Sydney when you are able to come here.
I imagine many love affairs have blossomed from the visit to these beautiful unique gardens - I like the gathering of people above the fabulous tiled sign.
Interesting notes Miro...
