Photographer’s Note
Whilst wandering through the (VERY) steep alleys of the small village of Pampaneira-over a 1000m up in the Las Alpujarras-i happened upon this this local woman washing down her doorstep, then disgarding the dirty water.
The water made the steep & already worn smooth cobbles even more treacherous than before!
It was recomended to me by our guide that i read a book called 'Driving over lemons', written by an English guy who set up home lower down the Alpujarras valley.
So far an enjoyable & funny book that i also recommend.
Regards to all,
David Cortez

Hi David,
An amazing place the Alpujarras, its cobbled streets, houses so white, no doubt the village I liked the most is Pampaneira, I guess that was the first to visit.

Hi David, I've read that book too, a very good read - I may still have the sequal - I'll check tonight. From the book it certainly sounds a very beautiful, if slightly barren part of Spain. Lovely slice of daily life. You can really feel the steepness of the narrow streets.
Best regards, Roberto
