Photographer's Note
The Gran Via de Colon, one of the main streets through the centre of Granada, is lined with elegant buildings. Most of these have commercial premises on the ground floor (banks, shops, etc.), and are divided into apartments above.
This particular building caught my eye because of its stunning pink paint against the blue sky and its pretty balconies. Street level was in shadow because of the low winter afternoon sun and I wanted to isolate the apartments and colours to make an interesting composition. I hope you like it.

Hello Digby,
The upwards point of view works well, drawing out the attractive architectural details. The man looking down from the balcony on the right introduces a touch of vitality. Good colour contrasts and excellent detail.
It is true that most of the villages that I visit to take photographs are quite small and there is rarely anybody to be seen. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day it is.
