Photographer's Note
The next photo in my Alhambra series:
Within the various palaces of the Alhambra are buildings added by a range of rulers. This one was rather dark inside and was lived in for a time by the American writer Washington Irving who lived in the complex in the early 19th century when all sorts of odd people lived in the Alhambra. He wrote a book (Tales of the Alhambra) based on stories told to him by the residents. The book triggered lots of interest and lead to the Alhambra's gradual restoration. It does make an interesting read if you van get hold of it (plenty available in Granada!)
Within that particular palace was this courtyard with its classic organised Moorish garden.

Hi Ian,
Looks a lot like my front yard after I trimmed the hedges today.
Good light, I like the way it falls off towards the background.
An interesting place.

Peter
