Hello friends and colleagues, today I present this view Nazari Way Street, from the pretty village of Zahara de la Sierra, this villa is part of the villages in the province of Cádiz that form the "route of the white villages" . Hope you like it, then some letters about its history.
Zahara de la Sierra is a village in the province of Cadiz , part of the Sierra de Cádiz . Its history goes back to ancient times , but it will be in the Middle Ages when it becomes important to become a major Muslim enclave , conquered by the Christians in the process of conquest of the Kingdom of Granada . Today is one of the most significant of the Route of the White Villages . IN THE UNITED NAZARI Zahara ( XIII -XV Centuries ) Year 1282. Documented the first news that refers to the town and fortress of Zahara goes back to 1282, when the Castilian king Alfonso X " The Wise" requested an interview with Yusef Aben Sultan of Morocco , who asks for help to fight his son , the future King Sancho IV " the Brave " , which had revolted . Wise King justified his request because if my Fixed non facen my enemies will therefore wrong to take my enemies by fixed .. Moroccan Prince accepting his request Zahara summons him , the then important Moorish kingdom border , militarily controlled by cora Ronda . The Chronicles likewise , have collected the interview held in the concourse under the tent of silk and gold from Baghdad. Alfonso sitial sitting on top , the feather almuadón Moroccan beside her. Aben Yussef is a venerable white-bearded old man and flow and knows a lot of books and science and so is a friend of the king of Castile, The financial aid in the delivery of 60,000 gold doubloons receiving good law and that the Castilian corresponds with the delivery of cows to improve Moroccan Then send him books in Arabic , which eventually will be in Jerez to be conquered. Year 1407. Corresponds to the first Christian takes Zahara (a fact clearly not isolated because during the same military campaign , fall , too, in Christian hands , Pruna and Alháquime Tower ) by the Infante Don Fernando "El de Antequera " , tutor Juan II and later king Ferdinand I of Aragon , which, according to the chronicles conquest after subjecting the town to bombing . The Infante Don Fernando , carrying in his right hand the sword of King San Fernando and warriors of the flower and gala of the court, from Morón and Montellano , crossing the ford Guadalete Puerto Serrano , planted his Real near Zahara , and from the three bombards allícon , Zahara bombarded , but nothing succeeds. However, Alonso, who thus receive the name of escalante , climb its walls and gets his surrender , produced the first of October. The Moors who lived there were sent under escort to Ronda. Year 1410. Taking advantage of the governor , Alonso Fernández de Melgarejo , with his troops had left the place unguarded because of riot were on the border , there is an attempt to reclaim the square by Muslim . According to the chronicles , they get up to the castle aided by two traitors from within , but finally fled , knowing that Don Fernando is heading back to Zahara , but not before having her put to prey for several days , during which burned the village and the church , the inhabitants slaughtered , leaving only seven Christians who take refuge in the castle, the event results in a relay at City Hall to consider the Castilian king has been negligent in his defense: the de Melgarejo was replaced by his brother , Garci Fernandez. Throughout this Christian occupation (1407 -1481) , Zahara , despite being conquest starring monarchical power , was handed over to his defense and occupation at the hands of the military nobility Spanish - case anything strange in medieval reforestation . The royal power was immense , so that in the chronicles , around 1477 we see a character , Marshal Fernando Arias de Saavedra , the then commander of Montalban , who act as true master of Zahara since this town was within their personal assets, operating independently tic . In such wise know that on their own Utrera wean attempts , assaults Bribes, Jerez and Arcos (then monarchical possessions , which is a confrontation with the king's troops ) and keeps truce with the Sultan of Granada. His son, called " Young Marshal " , heir to the immense wealth in land , continues the same policy , until in 1481 his possessions is reduced with the loss of Zahara . Year 1481. Zahara is recovered by Nazari . The Chronicles are concise information regarding this event : ... Zahara is surprised by the Moors on the night of December 28, 1481 , who know the castle Iras bundle q a bad Christian told where to enter, and slaughtered the defenders, taking captive the Christian defenders of the town. Year 1483. The date of the final conquest by Castilian custom figure of Don Rodrigo Ponce de León , who out of Marchena , and after a short siege overcomes the square in October of that year ( not exactly sure on as sources speak of such events from 14 to 28 ) . Previously, in September of the same year there was an attempt to win by the Count of Cifuentes , but failed in his attempt. Regardless of the history , something seems to have no doubt Zahara was in pre- war situation and constantly alert , and acted as a military outpost because of its strategic location on the border : at the time of the conquest , Rodrigo not found it women or children , but men for war , which shows that claim. After the Christian conquest , war agreements were established on the basis of the degree of resistance that have exercised the Muslim troops in the defense of the place . For Zahara , would be more in line with reflected by Fray Antonio Agapida in which the Marquis did not want to continue the siege , by not having enough supplies . Consequently , offered a very favorable capitulation , allowing them to leave without their weapons, but carrying all they could carry personal effects and empowering them to emigrate to Barbary . Logical possibility , which also reflects Palencia in his chronicle . Source Wikipedia . More information from the same source.

If the rest of the village is as attractive as this street, then I can only imagine how nice it must be! :) Even with the simple construction and whitewashed exteriors, it looks quite charming and very much inviting for a pleasant stroll. Nicely controlled exposure, which is generally pretty difficult with the limited colors, and under a bright sky...but you've found a solid balance to present this street with all of the charm and beauty it possesses. Good choice to use a vertical format too, helping stretch the perspective. Beautiful indeed! Have a great day ahead.
Friendly wishes from Arizona,

Splendid perspective along this street with its many attractive whitewashed houses. The lady, nicely placed in the frame, brings the scene to life. The image is pleasant lit and superb colour contrasts and clarity.

ourania (34395) 2013-09-19 9:58
the village looks picturesque and very quiet under the merciless sunshine. The presence of a passer by immediately attracts our interest and you've captured him at a great spot, a moment before he disappears in the shade. I love your composition and how the perspectives are accentuated by the contrasts. The way you've rendered the contrasting colours is superb, it creates a graphical effect that's very pleasing. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

The perspective in this photo is lovely. I like the curve of the street at the far end. That lone pedestrian on the street has added so much aesthetic value to the photo, much more than if two or three were on the street.
Exquisite timing, great technique!

Excellent use of diminishing linear perspective and vanishing point with the dual sides of the street also adding good lead in lines. The solitary man animates the scene. Good sharpness and framing and the vertical format was a good choice. Tfs!
abmdsudi (44964) 2013-09-20 9:14
A pleasing way to enjoy the feel of this charming old village with its traditional white with a special enchantment about it, and the elements well collaborated pulling the attention in. The compo is fine with excellent diagonal, depth and the eye cathing contrast. The fig adds superbly there. Well done. TFS

Romano46 (18472) 2013-09-20 10:38
Ciao e buon fine settimana

Nice depth and perspective that belies your great POV. Nice lines and contrasts between areas of light and shade too. The person of course adds the extra interest. Well composed. have a great week.

Interesting photo with a street view which looks as if it was taken through a real glass window. Person is positioned at the right place which gives depth to this photo. I like rich blue sky. The only minor thing which I would somehow remove is airplane track exhaust fume, but that is only me.
