Hello friends and colleagues, today I present this nice view of Conil with the salty river and floodplain in close-up view taken from the beach past the bridge you see in the picture, I hope you like it, then some letters on the villa.
Conil de la Frontera (until 1981 simply Conil) is a Spanish municipality in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia. It is one of the most picturesque villages of the Costa de la Luz, with places of great ecological and historical. Its economy is based on fishing and tourism facility. That's why in summer its population reached 90,000 people.
Its geographical coordinates are 36 ° 16 'N, 6 ° 05' W. It is located at an altitude of 41 meters and 43 kilometers from the provincial capital, Cadiz.
Conil is situated on a coastal plain southwest of the province of Cadiz, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean. Far from the capital about 43 kilometers. At its easternmost state dominates the plain, and its westernmost cliffs among which that of Roche. It is part of the region of La Janda.
Although human presence is found in prehistoric times, the town of Conil was founded in the time of the Phoenicians, who took advantage of going to sea in the area, creating their traps and fishing there. Already in Roman times acquired splendor and grandeur to be part of the Milky Herculean and unite the cities of Malaga and Cadiz. After the fall of the Roman Empire, Conil was sacked by the Visigoths, the Byzantines and Vandals until the arrival of the Muslims in 711, had to join the Cora of Sidonia.
No major news again have the municipality until 1265, year in which the municipality, due to the Reconquista Christian victories, rename the town, adding the place name of "border", as it did with other populations as Chiclana , Jerez or Arcos, because populations were part of the border between the Muslim lands of the Christians. In 1299, King Ferdinand IV granted Alonso Perez de Guzman was then the village Conil to repopulate and strengthened, contributing to their revival. It was at this time when the village was renamed Torre de Guzman, due to the tower, to defend the city in case of attack, built under his name.
Although epidemics of plague and other diseases that people suffered in later years, traps residents served as the basis of its economy. In the early sixteenth century village life is disrupted by disputes that occur between two noble families tremendously important area: that of Guzman and Ponce de Leon. Alongside this, the disputes between the nobles and villagers worsen the situation in the area, as they seemed to these second bad economic conditions to which they were forced to live. After all these problems, the following decades were paying off as the population and the production of the traps began to rise.
Seventeenth century was the golden age of the population, and which became economic enclave around. Already in the eighteenth century, the traps begin to decline, but by no means the economy begins to hold thanks to agriculture and livestock. In the middle of this century, a series of disputes due to the tax burden to which landowners and villagers again disturb the peace of Conil. These problems both territories and money are what makes people fall in the popularity of chopped, to which was added the Napoleonic occupation of the early nineteenth century. The people, who by then had a feeling those antisatately, Trustee Personero created a kind of ombudsman municipalities through which the area could meet the lords landowners. During the twentieth century, tourism, to a much lesser extent than at present, begins to take its toll on the town, because families sevillanas summer begin to march through the area to be medicinal water baths. Since the 60s, Conil tourism has boomed because of which this is the sector which has supported the village in recent years.

This is a nice view on this white town with a superb light and the distance on the sand gives deepness toward the arch bridge. Well done with a good control of the light.

Conil looks pretty big. Understandable since it must accommodate 90.000 people in the high season.
Remarkable is that the entire surface of Conil is composed of white buildings. This town simply shines on a bright day like when you took this picture.
An attractive composition in horizontal layers.
Best regards, Paul

bellissimo scatto, la linea bianca delle case tradizionali andaluse è splendida.
Mi piace come hai composto e tagliato la foto, hai dato molto spazio al cielo, con il suo colore forte crea solo interesse.

Beautiful shot of this town. I love the contrast the white houses make with the foreground and the sky. Fine DOF and clarity. Excellently presented with a well researched informative note. Thanks for sharing.

white houses shine in great contrast to blue sky and brown sand, Ange4l.
Excelent clear view of town. Yet, to my humble opinion - you left much of picture space to the "sky", what I do in cases like this is set the camera on 16:9 aspect ratio, and cover more of the FG instead. but that's only my taste, I like the view anyway.

A splendid view on this white town, which looks perfect under the lovely blue sky. I like the layering effect and the lighting, which is ideal to bring out the detail. The church tower rising above the whitewashed houses makes a good focal point.

C'est un endroit que je n'ai pas eu le plaisir de visiter. De loin, cela semble très beau. Une belle plage de sable doux très profonde et des maisons toutes blanches sous un soleil de plomb.

A quite simple but yet very attractive and well composed picture. It is nicely dived in two parts, with the line of white houses between the blue sky and the brown sand.
yquem46 (37558) 2013-12-08 7:09
I like with the 3 layers of various colors, or said otherwise the long white line of the city as a sandwich between the blue sky and the brown sand
A simple beautiful image
have a nice sunday, best regards

I like very much this composition (as other, similar ones, I've seen from you before) that gives such a vast sense of space both to the land and to the sky. This picture doesn't only give us a graphical impression of the place but offers us details as well. The contrasting colours are wonderful and have en essential role in the description. The way you managed the light makes us see why this area is called Costa de la Luz. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

What caught my attention right away was the level or position of the horizon line, love the 1/3 setup and composition as it clearly works well in this scene.
Excellent light and color combinations too, all together with a fine note.
