Photographer’s Note

Railway to Algeciras has British background. It was build by Algeciras (Gibraltar) Railway Company Ltd. and opened in 1892. Since then Algeciras has been a major gateway between Europe and Africa. Originally train tracks continued all the way to the harbour, for easy change between trains and ships.

At some stage this connection was cut and new station was built at the end of the tracks and this old station on the northern side of the tracks was left unused. I wasn't able to find out when the rails to the port were cut, but that shouldn't be too long ago as both maps.google.com and www.multimap.com show the rail connection on their maps.

Haha, you are right that this would also be very suitable for the title 'end of the line' :-). Or 'end of the tracks' to just make it a bit different from my posting ;-).
Nice long shades here! I might have given it a bit more space at the top, but it works as well for me as it is! Thanks for sharing!
