November evening dying into blue dusk. A view through gracile branches of a Maecenas bush toward the last patches of the light of the parting day. The ridge of Mt. Srebrnjak 2010 m high, meaning in Slovenian language 'Silvery', subtly glow in blue.
Scanned by Nikon CoolScann ED-IV. Cropped. At 4.000 pix picture width mountains masked, lightened and contrast increased using Curves. Since increased contrast increases also blue tint, I pushed it back adding red and yellow (Hue tool). Mask saved to channel-1. Most of the sky selected manually, the mask shrank for 10 pix and feathered 20 pix radius, average mode. The purpose being to protect only the sky during sharpening in the later phase. Mask saved to channel-2. Picture resampled to 800 pix width. Channel-1 mask loaded and mountains sharpened using Unsharp mask, level 70, 1 pix radius. Mask inverted. Channel-2 mask loaded using exclusive-or function. In this way only branches of the bush are selected. Sharpened using Unsharp mask, level 45, 2 pix radius. JPEG level 38 (Corel PhotoPaint notation).

A very nice shot, and a very usefull note. You really succeed to show the silvery of the mountain together with a perfect blue sky. That tree is wonderful and adds a lot to the composition.

Nice shot, the thumbnail didnt lead me to think this was anymore than a tree against an evening sky...what a nice suprise when the mountains revealed themselves to me when I looked at the larger image...very moody and magical image...well done!

Which beautiful effect that this branch which advances(moves) in the image. Colours are magnificent and mountains seem majestic. A very beautiful photo.
Quel bel effet que cette branche qui s'avance dans l'image. Les couleurs sont magnifiques et les montagnes semblent majestueuses. Une très belle photo.

This is wonderful. At first I was thinking that the branches take up too much space in the frame, but after going back and forth a while I find it an important part of the composition. The sky looks dramatic again as well as the mountains. An incredible shot, very well done.

Another good shot of Amadej. Good choise to cover the strong light with the branches. Amadej, you have not specified if you have used the polarizer?
