Hey, I know I said I`ll post one more of France, but I`ve changed my mind - yet again. But at least I`m keeping true to my promise to show photos from other parts of the country.

This is Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, shot today from a rail bridge, near the main train station.
The building on the left is the home of the Slovenian Telekom, behind it is the building of A-Banka (bank), on the far right is an administrative building (of god-knows-what). This road is called Dunajska Cesta - literally Vienna Road, previously called Titova Cesta (Tito`s Road) before independence. In short, the main artery into and out of the city.

I`ve spent my entire day today walking around Ljubljana and taking pictures, so this is just the .. prelude. Its a scene of the capital most people dont see, or dont find as interesting as the old town for instance.

Obviously shot with the Tripod. Didnt change much, mostly levels, brightness, and selective colors - cyans, blues and yellows a little. Framed it, resized it, sharpened it.

I think this is a good position to be on the bride, not in the middle exactly (of the road below) but a off little to one side of it.
Normally the old town, or the city centre, is what most people visit and photograph, but you are right, other parts of many cities are as much interesting as the centre, or even more.
Here we can see that the city is alive, that traffic can be heavy as almost in every big town and that you have a good eye to picture it.

Great picture here. Very sharp. I love the light trails on the left. I also like whats happened on the right, where (I assume) there has been a queue of cars as the one at the bottom of the picture is in focus. As they gradually begin to move off, we make out less and less of the cars. Really great effect!

Ha, poglejte ga! Pa je le prisel v Lublano. :D
In začel z vstopno točko. Še dobro, da si jo dokumetiral, kajti kmalu se bosta tu na obeh straneh zgodili popolnoma novi stolpnici, nova vrata v center mesta. Žal se bom morala zopet ponoviti o tem, kako dobro ti gre nočna fotografija od rok. Pa da najdeš voljo po tem mrazu škljocat! :) Morda res ni najbolj turističen spot tole, vendar si s tole malce daljšo ekspozicijo naredil odličen poudarek in kompozicijski iztek.

Hej Miha,

to pa je po mojem tvoj najboljši nočni posnetek. Super deluje z lučmi avtomobilov, pa kompozicija je zaradi tega, čeprav je centralna, mnogo bolj razgibana in odprta. Super barve in sploh čista slika z dobro ostrino.

Bravo!

Upam, da boš lahko vseeno kaj fotografiral kljub temu kilavemu vremenu :)

always wanted to capture something like this in India....but most of the time there was no electricity.....and when we did....couldnt find place to stand still for 10 seconds....a ha ha

Hi Miha, a pleasure to see you trying that kind of stuff, i just love those effects and result as pictures.
This is a good try, of course you don't have here in lubjana monument like eiffel tower that permits to build a compo around and apply those lights trails ... And just a thing, when doing this, try to use at best the red one, white ones are more difficult to handle and less effective on eyes.
Anyway this is a good try and i like it

Boravio sam u Ljubljani prosle godine,i nisam uhvatio ovakvu slicicu a jako bih zeleo da jesam. Ljubljana koja raste,Ljubljana koja negde zuri. Negde izmedju istoka i zapada, grad koji je sacuvao neki smek balkana(u odnosu na italiju ili austriju se bas primecuje) a u isto vreme grad koji je dosta razlcit od balkanskih gradova.

I like the impression of speed here and your title is well chosen and funny too... Great night shot with good colours and sharpness (yes, a tripod helps !) - The WS is amazing and totally different, yet I like it too (but then, it is another photo!)

I like the busy lights from the cars, this looks like a commercial you see on television for a new cell phone or toyota car. I wonder how you got this effect... Was it the f/stop or the long exposure time? I will have to experiment with my camera, but I don't think that I can do that with mine.

This is truly a great nightscene well captured with the use of f/16 to achieve the good effect on the moving objects!

Fantastic night shot, very good 10sec exposure to grab the tail/headlights. Colours are spot on and there is no noise to be seen whatsoever.

Ce ne bi poznal nasega mesta, bi mislil, da Ljubljana ogromna metropola. Vsec mi je, kako ti je uspelo na tej sliki prikazati vpadnico... se kaksna reklamica vec na SCT stolpnici, pa bi lahko mislil, da smo v NY.

huda fotka nocne Lublane! Se tudi sama ze dolgo pripravljam na en nocni foto session pa mi ne rata. Hud POV, zelezniski most ce se ne motim? Si pa ne bi misla da je tam tok placa da se ti ni treba bat da te kak vlak ne zgazi :)
