Photographer’s Note
Yes, friday was as sunny as it can get. We had a holiday (cultural holiday) celebrating life, well, more accurate death of our greatest poet, France Preseren. It is little morbid having a day to honour greatest poet on a day of his death and not on the day that he was born... But it is what it is and we do not mind, cause we had day off on a most sunny friday of this year. :) You can see how intensive light it was on this capture. This is a reflection from a glass facade of the opposite building (which you cannot see) on a concrete wall on an old housing block. Usually very dull facade with absolutely no imagination (remains of a socialism :P) but with light patterns like this quite vivid and interesting. So of course I had to stop and make a shot. It has almost everything I like: light/shadows, contrast, a tree :P, architecture, just some colours missing. :)
For my friend Argy.

Zdravo Jeri!
Da, ova refleksija je ulepsala ovu socrealisticku betonsku zgradu, iako mi jos uvek nije jasno kako je doslo do ovakve refleksije!?!
Veliki pozdrav, Zorica

Hi Jeri,
This is wonderful! I had to read your description a couple of times to work out where that light came from, but now I understand :) I really like the way the soft reflected light is superimposed over the stark geometric lines of the socialist architecture, humanising it and creating an almost submerged feeling, abstract yet warm.
Very well seen and taken!

Dober dan Jeri,
What a magnificent photo!
The contrast between the curved lines of the light and the shadows and the straight lines of the architecture is really extraordinary.
You were certainly very happy to discover it on a building. When I see things like that, it always makes me a very big pleasure.
So many people pass close without looking.
Have a nice week

Hi Jeri,
Why title is reflections, when reflections take about 1% of shot, and shadows take 99%, but there isn't almost any word about shadows?:) Anyway... Superb composition and great idea to show us your socialism building:)
Superb Jeri!

hi Jeri,
this picture has an impressive impact, it looks like a great abstract painting and the reflections completely change the image of the building, everything is what we can see of it, maybe. The only thing I am certain is that all around in this world is nice

Živ Jorgi,
Tole sem pa šele zdajle opazil. :>
Bo treba jit v Fužine mal ovekovečiti socialistično arhitekturo, tisto bi bilo šele zanimivo v takšni svetlobi, z dobro perspektivo in obdelavo. :)
Lep večer. :>

I like it, I like it, I like it :) I agree that in the right light even the horrible concrete housing blocks can look attractive. fantastic patterns of light and shadows, and the tree is a great accent. but what I like best are the windows - each has different curtains, different life behind it.
very well seen, Jeri, my compliments on walking around with your eyes open :)
have a great week,

Hi Jeri,
great ! Such a nice pattern, I like it that the spots of light are blurred, and the tree adds life to it.
Well seen ! As we are neighbors, France Preseren used to live also here in Klagenfurt for some time. There is a memorial tablet on the house where he stayed.
Cheers, Christian

Dear Jeri,
a very interesting pattern of the reflected light on the wall with windows. it is artistic.
I especially like the blurred borders of these "light and shadow". these soft shapes make a nice contrast with sharp windows on the tight concrete wall.
and the color patterns in the window glasses are tasteful, moreover the presence of this tree is touching.
in Japanese traditional architectures, I often find the device that the reflection of sun on the pond-water surface lights the wall or the ceiling in the room. the swinging wavy patterns of the light are seen in the room, and it makes the atmosphere so natural and interesting, like we were in the water world. your this shot reminds me that scene and I feel like I were in the bottom of the sea.
thank you,
Akihisa

Hi Jeri!
a great one, your pictures are all different from the preceeding one...but I always find that eye for light and special patterns and for harmony.
This is so fine-tuned, so graphic and so full of light, a real pleasure for the sight although the building as such is not. So you've made something artistic out of it. Superb work! It could almost be a b/w...I add it to my theme.

Hi Jeri,
perhaps, paradoxicalally, the day with more sun of the year to remember the absence of greatest poet, France Preseren.
A photography with an excellent mixture of valuable details and great technique: the architecture, the dull colors, the lights and the shades, the reflections of the sun in the facade.....genial game!
In addition, you invite to us to think and to imagine what it happens behind each one of the crystalline windows. Great idea and inspiration!
Kind regards, Jordi

Hello,
Really interresting shot very original with those shadows or in fact light reflection. I like those windows behind whom, you can guess lifes. I especially enjoy what seems to be a cat shadow on a bottom window even if it is impossible (except if it is a king size one!)

Hello Jerri,
nice reflected shot that captured the lines of shadows and lights, with very nice graphistic way and at the some time a minimalistic one.The verticals and horizontals lines make your capture 'particular'. The colours and the light are nice. The lonely tree adds a nice stroke in the scene.Informative your note too. Congratulations.

Hi Jeri,
An interesting play of light and shadows on the building. For me, "Reflections" has multiple meanings - reflections of the light from the other building, as well as the reflections on the windows of the building in the picture.
In my native coutry, a holiday also falls on the day of a person's death. A teacher explained to us that when a person is born, he has not achieved anything yet. But the day of his death marks the entire lifetime of achievement that made the person great. So we commemorate the anniversary of his passing and celebrate the person's achievements throughout his life. It is also a day for reflection (the third meaning of your picture's title).
Best regards,
Lamberto

Very well seen! The reflections add much interest to the rather dull concrete facade. The shapes of the reflected parts are very nice and I also like the repetition of the windows. Nice to have that tree also included. Well done, thanks for sharing!

Hello Jeri,
you have such an interesting gallery! Glad to find it out! Your picture is really impressive and from an artistic point of view! Great idea to take this picture! The light, the shadow, the open windows, the architecture, the reflections, this tree....everything add its own beauty and attribute to your picture! I also feel that even full of "subject" it is keeping a unique simplicity!!
Really wonderful picture, Jeri!!

Hoj Jeri!
Tale fotka me je pa itak čist navdušila. Namreč, lahko je dobit dobro fotko nečesa lepega (no ja tut to ni tok lahko, ampak mogoče lažje), ampak dobro fotko grde socialistične stavbe pa skoraj nemogoče :) Seveda sem Lukata takoj zaslišala kje hudiča je bilo to slikano, in ko sem se zadnjič popoldan peljala po Dunajski, sem dejansko zagledala točno tale prizor :) Nice!
Lep dan,
