In the middle Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is by all means, not a great photo, I think?

I`ve always had problem selecting which one of my photos to upload, I`ve tried consulting my friends, asking for their opinion; sometimes it did work, other times it didn`t. Anyway, opinions differ of course, and I personally have few "objective" notions of what is good and what is not - meaning which photo brings the most feedback.

Sometimes you get this one photo, after you run it through PP, that makes you go - "wow" - well, don`t worry, this one is not it. But you know you`ve hit the nail straight on the head with that one.

This photo is a bit different. Why:

- In reality it looks completely different, the grass is greener, the scenery is more full, the structure (kozolec by the way) isn`t that far, the sky was sunnier.

- If I turned around, the scenery would be completely different: The Alps. From here the photo gives the impression that the "prairie" runs forever, to me at least.

- It gives a sense of desolation, that nothing is around it, although people constantly walk on a path around the kozolec. The path of course can not be seen because of the tall grass.

The kozolec is stuck in the middle - like me, not knowing what to upload. :)

Hello Miha, thanks to you I now know that in Slovenia you have these kozolec used for drying animal fodder. I like the tall grass, the colours, the hills far away & beautiful blue sky, with the structure well placed.

Hello my friend Miha,
I think you had upload a fine image to me personally! a simple but true image with the best focal point that showing total sharpness on the far distance view in depth! the special thing is the good lighting that effect the land so beautifully from the right also create a well colour balanced!

Hello Miha, i disagree with you I think is an interesting and beautiful photo. I like the grass with the light falling on it the beautiful sky, how you placed the structure in the frame and the depth.

Hi Miha,
I like this simple but beautiful photo. The blue sky and that green field are great but the most greatest thing in this photo is (in my opinion) that excellent background with those beautiful mountains.
And yes, your note is great=)

Hi Miha,
I agreed with you that one of the most difficult parts is to select which photo to upload. I have not seen the other ones but I like this shot very much. The composition is excellent, the colors are beautiful and the clarity and details are wonderful.

Zdravo Miha,

razumeo sam tvoje dileme oko izbora fotki. Iste su i kod mene. Uvek se postavlja pitanje sa kime komuniciraš. Ono što je lokalno interesantno, nije uvek i globalno. Ono što je tebi na srcu, nije i drugima. Ali je važna razmena i iskustvo je uvek veće.

Na ovoj fotki sam prepoznao detalj koji je svakako tipičan za slovenačko selo i poljoprivredu. Ne znam gde su nestale planine! Vrlo lepo i oživljava moju nostalgiju za Slovenijom. Hvala ti puno i uživaj, prijatelju.

This photo is very good I think, the large and wide view really shows the greatness of the place, in particular the large inclusion of the field in the foreground as well as the sky. The colours and light are also superb, really well managed too. Thanks for sharing!

Nice blue sky and gradient of color to contrast with the grass field. Tehnically this photo is fine, perhaps only lacking a strong subject? Or you may have treated the farm house (in the middle?) as subject and place it off center. Nice work with no mistake :)

Živjo Miha,

kozolec...dejansko slovenska specialiteta, ki jo sicer lahko vidimo še v sosednjih državah, vendar nekako našega izvora. Dejansko daje naši pokrajini svojstven pečat in je že mene zamikalo, da bi ustarila eno temo o kozolcih. Seveda potem itak nimam časa za prav nič in ostane samo pri ideji... Tale fotka je enkraten posnetek podeželja v vsem svojem bistvu. Da bi bila top100 na TE je premalo kičasta, nima nič roza barve ali nerealnih kontrastov, je pa pristna in pokaže lepoto naših krajev tako kot je. Čudovito.

i have the same problem several times which one of my photos to choice to upload.Sometimes ask the opinion of my wife but the final decision it's mine.I like your shot,really is well managed with the eye to lead on on the construction and after this to the endless horizon.The colors and the light are nice.Informative your note.

Belle photo de cette plaine immence avec au bout ces montagnes qui donnent une grande profondeur de champs(Ha, Ha, Ha.)
Bonne idée de prendre ce batiment au centre de l' image en longueur, bel effet et jolies couleurs de cette prise.

Hi Miha,
I think that this is tecnically a good shot because there is a good management of lights, contras and colors saturation. There is also a good composition, but the landscape is too usual, without a real element of interest. There is no a powerfull idea behind the shot. The great idea is in your note.
