Photographer’s Note
... on the Other Side...
It is not common only to people that they always like things that are harder to reach. This picture is proof that this rule applies for such magnificant animals as the lipizzan horses as well. Grass appeared the same to me on the both sides of the fence, but this mare was making as much effort as possible to get some "neighbour" grass too. Later my girlfriend and I gave her (and the others) a treat in shape of sugar cubes. Offcourse that was way better than the grass, so the poor princess didn't have to strech her neck through the fence.
This picture was taken in Lipica, the original breeding ground of the Lipizzan horses well known around the world as very gracious and tame. They are used in Vienna's Spanish riding school as well as at traditional royal parades in London.
Earlier this year Queen Elisabeth II visited Slovenia for the first time and got one of the best trained studs as present.
You can read more about theese magnificant horses on Wiki.

hi Luka,
how very true :) on the other hand we have no idea what the horsie smelled/sensed in the grass on her side. may be a cat has gone to toilet there, you never know :D
I like a lot the square format here, and how the strong diagonal line adds intensity to the moment. nice work, my compliments.
regards,
Kristine
p.s. say "hi" to your girlfriend for me :)

It's not the head eating the grass that attracts me hear so much as the sheer bodily effort the horse is making to reach past the fence - one can feel the tension in the legs and the missing body - decisively humorous!

Hojla,
poljubcek,

Funny observation and note. I also find the horses efforts to reach as far out as possible to the other side hilarious. Probably he smelled something over there, but the conenction to the proberb is great. perfect square format.
cheers,
Cristian

Živ Luka,
Tukaj mi je pa všeč (bolj lahkotna) simbolika. Odličen tajming z motivom, tehnično tudi seveda super fotka: zelo lepo zasičene barve.
A s sladkorjem sta jih futrala? Pa da ni bilo to ravno pred tistim ko so .. :) hec.

again a symbolic shot from you with a good note to go along with it... loved the way you framed the poor -but noble- horse luka, with his crossed legs and his neck crossing the fence... good job my friend, keep going...

zdravo luka!
hehe, i'm late here for the party, but i was laughing when i saw this. the poor horse seems quite desperate for that GREEN patch ACROSS THE FENCE. a nice capture, well framed too.
cheers,
k.

dear Luka,
your note looks very "didactic", "our" desires are perhaps so.
but this photo has quite different feeling from that mean too.
a moment that lovely white horse is eating beautiful green grass, is joyful to watch from here.
we like eating and also to see our pets eating, eating is precious!
your nice capturing of that moment,
thank you,
Akihisa

Hello Luka! We have the same saying and yes I am a little like this sometimes. If I see a new handbag or something that my friend has I try to find out the shop where she bought it :))) How funny how the horse goes into the knees to come closer to THE herb, the one it can impossibly find on the other side ... very cute photo. Have a nice Sunday, Barbara.

Hi Luka,
thanks for giving me the chance to visit your second pic.. the diagonals make it very vivid, it´s technically very good and very well framed.
I´m curious for the next :)
